can be reused, recycled, and conserved. Key concepts

Ped Ac6vity The teacher will show a YouTube video that explains what
ago
recycling is. Then the teacher will show different images of

recyclable and non recyclable items on a powerpoint and
identify what each item is and why it is recyclable or non
recyclable. As the images are being presented the teacher
will always call on students to answer if they think the
presented item is recycle or not and why.
Some of the images presented will be:
1. An image of a milk carton
2. A banana
3. A cellphone
4. An Ipad
5. Plas6c bags
6. Food
7. Magazine
8. Glass
9. Egg carton
10.A light bulb

Then the teacher will show a slide of these items being


categorized by being recyclable or not. The students will be
engaging as they will be instructed to observe and be open
to ask questions like “why isn’t a cell phone recyclable?”,
“why isn’t food recyclable?”.

The students will be able to have some fun enjoying the


game but still learning as they are visually seeing what
items like milk cartoons, electronics and glass bottles go
into different bins as they are not all recyclable.

Then the students will go on to the Jam Board that the


teacher created and they will have the opportunity to move
the images either to the left side that will be labeled
“Recyclable” or to the right side that will be labeled “Non
Recyclable”. Once everyone has had a turn, the teacher will
go over each image and indicate if it was placed in the
correct place.
