 PROPORTION
• Even though this is not a real cinema it
achieves the same effect
• While a cat being almost as big as a
cinema is completely wrong it is also funny to
look at which makes if bad proportion
• The bad proportion makes it entertaining to
look at
 MOVEMENT
• A lot of the movement is shown through the strokes of paint.
• They bring you to different objects within the piece to get the
feel for the entire flow.
• There are so many different shapes, colors and textures that
also help to achieve the feeling of movement.
• By just looking at the piece you can also tell the story about
what is happening. The couple is walking back home with their
chickens following them while the clouds in the sky go by with
birds flying through the air
 RHY THM
• The ovals are the same shape and
size and color consistently and continue
the repetitive motion throughout the
piece
• Makes my eye follow throughout the
entire piece
 UNIT Y
• The rest of the image is blurry compared to the important
part.
• If you took away either the cat or the rope the image would
look incomplete
• It is an interesting piece of art and with the words under it
that go along with the pictures is achieving telling you something
 BALANCE
• While the pattern of the shapes is the same
the colors throughout differ
• This creates a pattern throughout the piece
and the different sized shapes and the color
contrast between them catches your eye
• It makes it interesting to look at and you
want to look at the entire thing to see the rest
 VARIATION
• While the piece has many different colors and parts to it nothing
really overpowers another or seems like it shouldn’t be there.
• There is repetition in colors, but the shapes throughout may differ
making not perfectly symmetrical
• While looking at the piece your eyes never stop going through the
entire piece due to the variation
 CONTRAS T
• While there are only 4 colors truly
involved in this piece. Each of them
makes the other pop to get your eyes to
catch different details.
• My eye is always drawn though to the
sunflower due to how to color of the
yellow pops out of the blue and green.
 EMPHASIS
• The background of the entire artwork is white, while
the main X’s and O’s are black and the one that you
really want to have POP is the last X and O that are gold.
• Without the emphasis on the last X and O yes it
would still say X O throughout the entire thing but it is
putting real emphasis on one to make you feel it
