1.) How did she get started with the activity? (3points)
Tells the kids to use their eyes (sense of sight) to see what we notice about the piece.
Introduces it as just a piece of art. Doesn’t give any thing away with the title or with her
thoughts/opinions
2.) What kinds of questions did she ask, how did she follow up? (3 points)
These all keep pushing the students to really be taking a deeper dive into the piece.

everyone see the same thing at the same time to make the connections together.

4.) How could we connect this activity to the elements and principles? (5 points)
It already is. Throughout looking at the piece the children are noticing without thinking about it
the different elements and principles within the piece. The way the students can get it more is
by the teacher maybe pointing those certain things out as the students are pointing out their
parts.
5.) What kinds of follow up or next step activities could we do after something like this? (5
points)
The teacher in the example could bring up more of the science ideas after since this project
already connected with their past science lessons. In art the teacher could have them create
their own pieces that in some way connect to the main piece. Whether it be a word or feeling
or idea they got from the piece of art to create their own.
6.) Elementary Ed. how could this be used cross curricular? Art Ed. how could this transfer into
a project? (5 points)
This could be used in so many lessons across the board. The idea of constantly pushing your
students to think harder and see deeper rather than just staying in the box. This is the teacher’s
job in general ask questions to get more answers to make sure the students truly understand
what they are thinking about or saying. The other part of a teacher’s job is to not muddle their
teaching with their own opinions but to help the students see and learn the actual facts. The
video example was also doing it cross curricular. She brought the idea of what they had learned
in the past from their science lessons.
