fractional distillation.

and carbon dioxide from the feed water, by passing the feed water through bled
steam. The Deaerator is also used to prevent surge in the system, acting as a feed
water heater and storage tank.

20. Scuffing of piston ring is defined as the damage occurring between two sliding
surfaces due to breakdown of lubrication oil film. Due to breakdown of film high
points are generated and due to friction heat is generated causes high points to be
 weld together. The movement of piston rings and piston break these welds and
generated rough surfaces.

21. The water cooled piston have move heat transfer rate than the oil cooled but there is
always the chances of contamination of crankcase oil.

22. The fuse will protect the equipments if they draw more current and due to this
increase the amperage value of fuse and melt it. Thus also provide protection against
fire.

23. If you find any hot spot in any circuit this will be due to overloading of circuit stop
some of the equipments and reduce load.

24. A circuit breaker is a device working as a fuse but more complicated and can be
reused. When current exceeds the rated value it disconnects and have to be reset
manually. Although tripping is a sign of electrical fault or overloading.

25. Advantages of AC over DC are-AC can increased or decreased in value by using

transformers.AC current can be very easily transported through over very long power
lines. It’s easy to convert AC to DC than DC to AC.
