Hello everybody, my name is Zuzana Gabonayová and my presentation totay

will be about CLOUD STORAGE.

In today’s presentation I will talk about what is cloud storage, I will mention
a few cloud providers and about advantages & disadvantages of cloud storage.

What is cloud storage?

Cloud storage is a model of computer data storage in which the digital data is
stored in logical pools, said to be on "the cloud".
The physical storage spans multiple servers (sometimes in multiple locations),
and the physical environment is typically owned and managed by a hosting
company.
Online file storage centers or cloud storage providers allow you to safely
upload your files to the Internet.
People and organizations buy or lease storage capacity from the providers to
store user, organization, or application data. It is a cheap and best technique to
store our data like Documents, Photos, Videos, files on the Internet for further
use.

Cloud Providers
There are various providers of cloud storage. For example Apple iCloud,
Dropbox, Microsoft OneDrive, Google Drive, Oracle Cloud,

Apple iCloud
Everyone gets 5GB of free iCloud storage to get started and it is easy to
upgrade. The offer of upgrade are 50GB, 200GB and 2TB and is paid monthly.
iCloud is built into every Apple device. That means all stuff like photos, files,
notes, and more – is safe, up to date and available wherever. It allows you to
synchronize all your apple devices to iCloud so anything you have stored in the
iCloud can be accessed from any Apple device. For example, a document typed
on an iPad and saved to the iCloud can be accessed from an iPhone.

Dropbox
Gives you 2GB of free storage. Dropbox has a choice of personal and business
storage plan from 2TB to "as much space as customer needed".
It was founded in 2007 by 2 students.
Dropbox brings files together in one central place by creating a special folder
on the user's computer. The contents of these folders are synchronized to
Dropbox's servers and to other computers and devices where the user has
installed Dropbox, keeping the same files up-to-date on all devices.
Microsoft OneDrive
Everyone gets 5GB of free personal cloud storage to start. There are 100 GB, 1
TB, and 6 TB storage options available either separately or with Office 365
subscriptions.
OneDrive allows users to store files and personal data like Windows settings or
BitLocker recovery keys in the cloud, share files, and synchronize files across
Android, Windows Phone, and iOS mobile devices, Windows and macOS
computers, and the Xbox consoles. Users can upload Microsoft Office
documents to OneDrive.

Google Drive
With a Google account, first 15GB of storage are free. Google Drive also offers
from 100 GB to 30 TB storage, offered through optional paid plans.
Google Drive has a website that allows users to see their files from any
Internet-connected computer or other device, without the need to download
an app.

Advantages
That is not a problem with cloud computing, because you do not take your
documents with you
Documents are instantly available from wherever
Multiple users can collaborate easily on documents and projects
Disadvantages
Cloud computing is impossible if you cannot connect to the Internet
