Subject: Application for PHD position (PROTECT)

Respected Sir/Madam!
I am writing to you for an open PHD position on PROTECT project. My major
interests are in the Biomedical simulation and modelling as being a student in
biomedical engineering and mechatronics both, i have gained good
experience in biomedical simulation and proved my aptitude throgh excellent
results.

I graduated recently on 20th of March 2020, due to worldwide emergency

situation because of coronavirus, official transcript and degree can be
delayed for some time. During my master’s studies in Germany I have gained
good exposure of medical devices industry and thorough theoretical
knowledge about working and development of biomedical devices and
implementation and regulation of these devices and in my Master thesis, I
worked on the development of a device called “pupillary dilation monitor”. My
main tasks were sensor development for the lens, electronics and one of my
tasks also involved preliminary risk analysis of the intended device
furthermore I have gained experience in programming in different languages
on various platforms. During my time as a research assistant at Deutsches
Forschungszentrum für Künstliche Intelligenz, I also worked with python, C++,
C# and RAPID on different robot platforms.

Joining “PROTECT” as a PHD candidate is an exciting position to start my

professional career not only because it has so much to offer in terms of
growth and experience, but also I want to be the part of multicultural
environment with a tendency to learn and move forward as a team player and
hone my skills as an academic mentor. Not only that but a career aligned with
my interest and passion in engineering is an exciting opportunity to avail, I
believe that is the reason I chose to apply for this position.

I have studied vast range of subjects including mechatronics, instrumentation,
control systems, microcontrollers and CAD modelling during my bachelors in
Pakistan. As a master’s student at Anhalt university and Martin Luther
University Halle combined Biomedical Engineering program, I have acquired
the skills in instrumentation, simulation and modeling, microsystems,
biomedical imaging, device electronics, micro-sensors and medical devices. I
currently have a CGPA of 1.67/5. I believe that hard work and perseverance
can breakthrough any hurdle. I hope you will give me a chance to prove my
worth.
