Introduction
The process of obtaining the body of information and skills that people are supposed to
possess is known as education. A good education fosters critical thinking and intellectual
curiosity, all of which contribute to lifelong learning. Today's education is judged on its efficacy,
quality, long-term viability, and relevance. Relevance of education entails meeting the needs of

or misunderstanding. Everyone has the potential to make the best decision for themselves, but
their choices can also lead them down the wrong direction. Some first-year college students
have no idea what they want to major in. Many high school graduates know what they want to
study in college right now. In reality, they are asked what major they want for themselves when
they take entrance exams and first fill out enrolment forms.
What exactly is GAS? GAS (General Academics Strand) is the most versatile of the four
strands available in the Academic Track because students learn and experience something
from each one. GAS is primarily for students who are unsure about which strand to pursue.
This strand is specifically tailored for students who are still undecided about which
college course or degree they want to pursue. A student who completes this strand is eligible to
enroll in any college program. However, he or she would be expected to take certain subjects
that were not offered in Senior High but are required by a specific college as part of a bridging

This study is conducted within the town of San Antonio, Nueva Ecija. The respondents
were the 50 current Grade 11 students from various Senior High School in the town.
Upcoming senior high school students - This study will assist them t0 understand the
perceptions of the senior high school students on choosing General Academic Strand.
Senior High School students - This will help them to really understand the influences and
reasons of oneself.
Senior High School Institutions - The study will serve as their basis regarding the perceptions
