What are Your Visionary Goals and Their Relationship by Joining SPE

“No matter what achievements you make, someone will definitely help you ” it’s a custom
that I took from Althea Gibson. This quote seems to tell you that if we have good
relationships with other people, what we want to be like, there will be someone who helps us.
Hi, my name is Rizky Putra Pratama Takaendengan and I’m a Petroleum Engineering Student
batch 2019 and I decided to choose SPE as part of life’s experience to learn and develop
through experiences and challenges.
Before I move further, I would like to share a brief background and my interests after
approximately one year spent my time in college to develop myself more inside and outside
the class. I can tell that I spent my time well to learn and develop myself through education
inside the class, to get a better knowledge, and also to maintain my GPA on track. Besides, I
also spent my time to develop my potential by joining organizations such as student council,
SPE, and SRE. The experiences and challenges I had bring me to becoming a better person,
whether on the knowledge or skills specifically on how to organize things, how to spend my
time well, how to know my priority, and at the end to create a better version of myself. SPE
become one of the organizations that allows me to put my best effort and develop by any
chances I had. I spent half of my staff’s period on PR department and another half on CMR
department. Working as the part of PR is fun and challenging on the same time. But, working
as the part of CMR is a whole new thing for me. I never expect I would be chosen to work on
CMR since I never have any skills to design poster, greeting cards, and so on. Instead of gave
up, I decided to take this chance seriously. At the end of period, I can tell that I truly develop
through chances and challenges I had inside of SPE.
I have a bigger dream ahead as a petroleum engineer, but to achieve the dream I need
more chances to learn and get better not only about how I work hard to learn inside of the
class, but also about the development through organizations. SPE as an organization gives me
the whole environment to learn, to work as a team, and to gain experience through the work
programs and ideas inside. It’s an absolutely good call to choose SPE as an organization for
me to learn more. The simple thing I’ve ever seen through my experience on SPE is how SPE
create the space for the members to work out of their comfort zone. By putting members to
work out of their comfort zone, SPE as an organization, gives a challenges to their members
to get better. The members also need to work as hard to accomplish the target of a work
program with a deadline, which at the end, in a good way, forcing the member to be discipline
on their schedule. In addition, experience to work with SPE is a great chance to get
networking opportunities. This organization provides a whole environment for me to think
and brainstorm any idea as the part of preparation. Chance to work as a team also provides me
better opportunities to know any friends better through the work experience. Furthermore,
SPE provides not only a chance for me to build networking inside of our student chapter, but
also provides me a chance to broaden my networking opportunities and get new friends from
any other SPE student chapter.
In conclusions, by looking at my whole progress inside of college and organizations
specifically on SPE, I have a bigger visions and missions on SPE. And also, how SPE can
bring me to be a lot better through experiences and challenges. Besides that, there’s no other
reasons that make sense enough for not choosing SPE since any positive things I would have
inside of SPE. Visions and missions I have inside of this organizations is not only what I can
get and learn from SPE through chances and experiences, but also what I truly can give and
contribute towards SPE. I would work as hard to meet this organization standard and give my
best towards my education and organizations. Through this organization, I really hope any
experience I had on the past year as a staff can bring some new ideas, suggestions,
evaluations, solutions, and innovations to develop this organization better. Last but not least, I
hope SPE gives me another chance to work as a board and achieve a lot more ahead together.
