Course Description:
Students in this course will explore real world examples of how they can avoid
financial distress. Topics covered in this course include balancing a checkbook, dealing
with credit, budgeting, loans, banking, real estate, & investments. This class provides
students with financial knowledge and skills that they will need for the rest of their lives.
Required Material:
Pen/Pencil, Notebook, & Binder
Expectations:
Classroom expectations will be gone over with the students the first day of school
and ongoing throughout the semester. Some general expectations are:
▪ RESPECT all people, equipment, and furnishings in the classroom/lab.
▪ Follow all LHS rules in the student handbook.
▪ Follow all rules of the Luverne Technology Policy.
Make Up Work
If you miss a day of class your assignment will be due the next day you are
present. For any new assignments you will be allowed an extra day to complete the
assignment. It is your responsibility to talk to other students and/or the teacher to find out
what you have missed. (If you are gone multiple days please talk to me right away when
you return so that we can get you caught up.)
Cheating:
● Students who are guilty of cheating or plagiarizing will receive zero credit for the
work. Parents will also be notified by the teacher.
