1. Corruption is an act that harms or misuses power / position for personal or unilateral interests
2. In my opinion, corruption is common in society, many people are tempted to do it
3. Corruption or rasuah (Latin: corruptio from the verb corrumpere which means rotten, damaged,
shaking, distorting, bribing) is an act of public officials, both politicians and civil servants, as well
as other parties involved in the act which are improperly and it is illegal to abuse the public trust
empowered by them for unilateral gain
4. Every person who unlawfully commits an act of enrichment of himself or another person or a
corporation that can harm the state finances or the economy of the country, is sentenced to
imprisonment for life or imprisonment for a minimum of 4 (four) years and a maximum of 20 (
twenty) years and a fine of at least Rp.200,000,000.00 (two hundred million rupiah) and a
maximum of Rp.1,000,000,000.00 (one billion rupiah).
5. The government has tried to eradicate corruption in society, for example:

• Cultivation of National Spirit

6. There are 3 (three) strategies that teenagers can use if they want to be involved in movements to
eradicate corruption, namely:
1. Preventive strategy (prevention), namely to prevent, and can be done by: First, make sure
that you are not a perpetrator of corruption. This can be done by rejecting any illegal fees.
(example: conducting financial financial transactions without using receipts).
2. Detective strategy (detection), namely investigating or finding out if there are signs of
corruption, can be done by: First, inviting friends to build a small community at school and
holding regular discussions about the details of the use of the budget for activities at school.
Second, collect data if there are signs of misappropriation of funds. Third, do a search to find
out all forms of financial management. Fourth, establish communication with authorized
teachers if budget fraud is suspected.
3. Educational Strategy. This method aims to encourage the public to participate in fighting
corruption with their respective powers. So in society, it is necessary to instill the values of
honesty, and foster an antipathy attitude towards treatment that leads to corruption through
moral messages.

Bila: I'm very good, how about you?

Rara: I'm also very good

Bila: I heard that lately there are many who have committed acts of corruption

Rara: Yes, corruption is very common in our society, it is very unfortunate for the perpetrators of
corruption, they are detrimental to society and their country for their own personal interests.
What do you think?

Bila: I agree with you. In your opinion Has the government tried to eradicate corruption?

Rara: Of course. The government has made efforts to eradicate corruption, by means of preventive
measures such as, Cultivating National Spirit, Recruitment of Employees Honestly and Openly,
Appeal to the Community, Exploiting Community Welfare, Recording Assets. The government
also makes preventive efforts and educational efforts.

Bila: Can we as students participate in eradicating corruption?

Rara: Of course, we can do a Preventive Strategy (prevention), a Detective Strategy (detection), and
an Educational Strategy.

Bila : In your opinion, what about the perpetrator of corruption who compensates and is released
without punishment?

Rara: I really disagree with that, in my opinion the perpetrators of corruption if only asked to replace
them without punishment will not deter him.

Rara: Of course friends, we must share knowledge with each other so that we are not like narrow-
minded people
