ERA 3000 Measurement Functions

Note: Before operating the ERA 3000, read the instructions for use in the technical manual.

Saving Individual Parameter Sets

1. Select [Permanent].
2. Configure the pacemaker parameters according
to your requirements.
3. Select [Save parameter set].
4. Select [OK].
5. Switch to the "Setting" screen.
6. Set [Parameters at system startup] to [User] in
order to activate your parameter set when the
ERA 3000 is restarted.

Measuring P/R Amplitudes

1. Select [P/R].
2. You can change the parameter, e. g., set the
desired backup rate or turn off pacing.
3. Start the IEGM printout if you wish
documentation.
4. Select [Save] to record the measurement
results. A flashing rectangle facilitates the
detection of a new measurement cycle.
5. Up to 10 measured values are saved, including
potentials for the P- and R-wave, the
corresponding slew rate, and the correlating
rate.

Determining Thresholds
1. Select [Threshold V] or [Threshold A].
2. If necessary, change the parameters of the
threshold test. Set the basic rate to a value that
is higher than the patient's intrinsic rate.
3. Start the IEGM printout if you wish
documentation.
4. Decrease the pacing amplitude until you see that
the pacing pulse is no longer effective.
5. Select [Save]. The measured threshold is
recorded together with the correlating
amplitude and pulse width.
Measuring Lead Impedance
1. Select [Imped. V] or [Imped. A].
2. If necessary, change the parameters of the
impedance measurement.
3. Select [Save]. The last measured impedance
value is recorded together with the correlating
amplitude and pulse width.

Testing the Retrograde Conduction

1. Select [V->A].
2. If necessary, change the parameters of the
retrograde conduction test.
3. Start the IEGM printout if you wish
documentation.
4. Increase the ventricular pacing rate until it is
clearly higher than the patient's intrinsic rate.
5. Select [Save] when retrograde conduction
occurs. For the duration of the measurement
results recording, a flashing rectangle facilitates
the detection of a new measurement cycle.
6. Up to 10 measurement values are saved,
including the retrograde conduction time
together with the correlating rate.

Determining the Wenckebach Point

1. Select [WRL].
2. If necessary, change the parameters of the
Wenckebach test.
3. Start the IEGM printout if you wish
documentation.
4. Increase the atrial pacing rate until you detect
Wenckebach response.
5. Select [Save] to save the rate that is valid at the
Wenckeback point.
