Upkey Slack Channel Rules & Guidelines - Do’s and Don’ts.

The Slack channel is a private focused group exclusively for Upkey’s VIP Winter 2021 specific
topics.

Please note that this Slack channel is an educative based channel and not a commercial or
political helpline to solve problems. The aim is to facilitate an easy communication between
Upkey and interns, Interns & interns and professionals, and try our best that each query asked
in the channel is addressed by the​ relevant person with the relevant answer​.

Do’s – Practices which are appreciated

● Relevant Posts Only​: ​Everyone must write posts only those relevant to the group
subject.
● English Language:​ ​Please ensure that you post messages in English only so that
every member can understand.
● Respect to peers and experts:​ Kindly talk to everyone respectfully - members
and professionals.
● Value for Time:​ Please also understand and value each other's time to help Upkey
and members achieve a better focused program.
● Everyone is human​: ​Please ​conduct yourself in the channel by showing integrity.
You may have an opinion about a person but don’t be mean by airing that in a cold
way in the channel.

Don’ts – Practices which are banned from the channel:


● This channel is not a commercial or political platform: ​Every political news
(real or fake) should not be brought into this channel to avoid fear mongering, heated
opinions, hyped drama or hatred. If at all you want to share any news, please Check your
sources before you share any news.
● Do not air any grievance on the channel: ​Never use the channel to berate someone
else or air grievances. If you have an issue, please address it to the relevant channel by
emailing ​VIP@upkey.com
● Irrelevant Content:
○ Do not post anything outside the topic.
○ Do not spam or post any irrelevant messages in the channel.
○ Unrelated content will not be tolerated at all.
● No Arguing:​ Please do not engage in extreme arguments with members to avoid
heated opinions.
● Do not stalk any member:​ Members are requested to refrain from bothering
group members personally. Further, when communicating in the channel, you are
expected to talk and behave in a polite and professional manner. Any Complaint by
any member about stalking by some other member of the group shall be taken very
seriously.
● Excessive self-promotion:​ You can use the platform to showcase some nice work
you have done or a good post you have posted on LinkedIn. However, it should be
related information and excessive self-promotion will not be welcome.
● Quality not Quantity:​ In larger interest, members are expected to refrain from
sending irrelevant messages. As earlier stated, we need to focus on the quality of
discussion and not quantity in order to achieve the sole aim of this program.
● Personal Opinion:​ The posts in the channel by any member (intern) shall be their
personal views. Upkey shall not be liable for any such information provided.

Agreement to the rules & guidelines:​ ​Your continued presence in the channel and as a VIP
intern will mean you agree and abide by the terms of the Slack channel.
