1st week Multistage amplifiers. Hybrid connection (FET and BJT cascaded)
2nd week Frequency response of amplifiers. Standard forms of asymptotic plots.
3rd week Low-frequency response of amplifiers.
4th week High-frequency response of amplifiers.
5th week Differential amplifier. The effect of a transistor current source to improve CMRR.
6th week Basic characteristics of operational amplifier (OP-AMP).
7th week Application of OP-AMP (amplification, summation, subtraction, controlled voltage and
current sources).
8th week Application of OP-AMP (integration, differentiation, precision rectification). Slew rate.
9th week MIDTERM EXAMINATION
10th week Feedback theory. Effect of feedback on gain, stability and frequency response of
amplifier.
11th week Feedback in non-inverting and inverting amplifiers. Feedback examples by using
reflected resistance method.
12th week Classification of power amplifiers. Allowable dissipation. Resistive loaded class A
power amplifier.
13th week Class A power amplifier using transformer coupled load. Maximum output power.
14th week Class B Push-Pull power amplifier. Complementary symmetry.
