OSI MODEL LAYERS

The Open Systems Interconnection (OSI) model describes seven
layers that computer systems use to communicate over a
network.
 Physical Layer.
 Data Link Layer. ...
 Network Layer. ...
 Transport Layer. ...
 Session Layer. ...
 Presentation Layer....
 Application Layer.

2. VLAN
VLAN stands for Virtual Local Area Network.
It is a custom network which is created from one or more local
area networks.

3. LAN
A Local Area Network (LAN) is a group of computer and
peripheral devices which are connected in a limited area such as
school, laboratory.
4. WAN
A wide area network (also known as WAN), is a large network
of information that is not tied to a single location.
5. MAN
A metropolitan area network (MAN) is a
computer network that connects computers within
a metropolitan area, which could be a single large city, multiple
cities
6. FTP
FTP, is full file transfer protocol, computer application used to
transfer files from one computer to another over a local area network
(LAN) or a wide area network (WAN) such as the Internet.

7. HTTP
Hypertext Transfer Protocol." HTTP is the protocol used to
transfer data over the web.

8. SMTP
Stands for "Simple Mail Transfer Protocol." This is the
protocol used for sending e-mail over the Internet.
9. HTTPS
Hypertext transfer protocol secure (HTTPS) is the secure
version of HTTP, which is the primary protocol used to send
data between a web browser and a website .
10. HDLC
High-level Data Link Control (HDLC) is a group of
communication protocols of the data link layer for transmitting
data between network points or nodes.
11. URL
A Uniform Resource Locator (URL), otherwise known as a
Universal Resource Locator, is the address of a resource on the
Internet and the protocol used to access it.
12. HTML
HTML stands for Hyper Text Markup Language. HTML is
the standard markup language for creating Web pages.
13. NIC
A network interface card (NIC) is a hardware component
without which a computer cannot be connected over a network.
14. ARP
Address Resolution Protocol (ARP) is a communication
protocol used to find the MAC (Media Access Control) address
of a device from its IP address.
15. ICMP
The Internet Control Message Protocol (ICMP) is a protocol
that devices within a network use to communicate problems
with data transmission
16. SUBNET MASK
A subnet mask is a number that defines a range of IP addresses
available within a network.

17. TCP/IP
TCP/IP, in full Transmission Control Protocol/Internet
Protocol, standard Internet communications protocols that allow
digital computers to communicate over long distances.
