1. Critically examine the following statements in about 150 words each:
(a) "There were many concerns that influenced town planning in the nineteenth century in
India."

(c) "Events since 1956 have shown that loyalty to a language was quite consistent with, and
was rather complementary to, loyalty to the nation." Comment.

(a) "Due to fiscal requirements economic necessities and nationalist pressure, there was a
change in official policy towards industrialization."
(b) "The activism and politicization of women promote a feminist conscious in colonial India."

on ideological ground."
(d) "There were many reasons which made the dialogues at the Round Table Conference

or Muslim League ever coherently defines the Pakistan demand."
5. (a) "The failure of the anti-rowlatt act agitation, made Gandhi realize the need for an impersonal
political organization such as the congress." Elucidate.
(b) "The RIN mutiny was, however, short-lived, but it had dramatic psychological repercussions.
How far do you think that it forced the British to change its policy in favour of transfer of
power?
(c) Evaluate the role of revolutionaries and their organisations in national freedom movement?
