Agenda for Inservice Lesson Plan

Topic: Conflict Resolution Strategies

Attendees: Elementary Students (Preferably K- 3rd)

Duration: 50 minutes

Objective: Teach students basic conflict resolution strategies


on how to solve their own disagreements
peacefully and independently while promoting
problem-solving skills, effective communication
skills, listening skills, and creative thinking skills.

Materials needed: Projector, laptop, pens, crayons, markers

Introduction (2 minutes): Introduce myself, the topic, objective, and a


breakdown of what we are doing

Slides 2 - 4 (5 minutes): Discuss video and explain what is conflict, who


you can have conflict with, when and where you
can have conflict

Worksheet & Group reflection discussion (10 Hand out “How I handle conflict” worksheet to
minutes): students to fill out, then have a group reflection
discussion regarding their answers. Call on a few
students to share out loud.

Slides 6 - 11 (15 minutes): Explain the 5 strategies for conflict resolution:


calm down/cool down & postpone, talk it out
yourselves or get help from an adult, apologize,
compromise/negotiate, and chance it.

Group Activity (14 minutes): Hand out coloring pages based off of the
strategies so students can see it visually. Students
can then take the coloring page(s) back to their
classroom or home to hang it up as reminders.

Closing & Answering any questions (2 Wrap up the presentation. Answer any questions.
