Greetings!
The Historic Coast Pearls, Incorporated is a 501c3 foundation that has a mission to engage in programs and
activities that address needs pertaining to education, health, environmental and social issues in the community.
In accordance with our mission, we are pleased to announce the 2021 Historic Coast Pearls Scholarship
opportunity. The Foundation will award several scholarships to 2021 high school seniors matriculating in St.
Johns or surrounding counties based on the criteria listed below.
Interested applicants must complete and submit the scholarship application and supporting documentation
via the attached link (2021 Historic Coast Pearls Scholarship) on or before Friday, May 21, 2021. Late
submissions will not be accepted. The completed application will require the following supporting documents:
Essay: The applicant must submit a 250-500 word essay on the topic listed below. Essays should be typed,
Times New Roman 12-point font, with 1-inch margins,
Essay Topic: Community disruptions such as social unrest and COVID-19 have long-lasting and deep impacts
on individuals and society. How has the current nature of community disruption affected you? How has this
influenced your thoughts and future endeavors?
Please note that family members of the Historic Coast Pearls, Incorporated members are not eligible to receive
a scholarship. A family member is defined as: biological children, stepchildren, adopted children, grandchildren
(biological or through marriage), or a legal ward. In addition, previous scholarship recipients are not eligible to
apply.
Upon receiving the application, the Scholarship Committee will meet to review applicant eligibility,
application, and supporting documents. All applicants will be notified of the Scholarship Committee’s
decision via email. Selected award recipients will also be provided the next steps towards receiving the
scholarship award.
