Enrichment SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION

The Denton Elkins Foundation (DEF) was established in 2021 for the purpose of providing
financial assistance to aspiring local musicians to help with building and guiding future
musicians. The Denton Elkins Foundation is a Memorial Scholarship Program to honor Denton’s
love for music, his leadership through mentoring youth and promoting aspiring artis. Denton
was truly an amazing and gifted musician, and his memory and infectious positive spirit
continues to influences our community to this day. Scholarships will be awarded annually to
students who value scholarship, service and extracurricular activities as Denton Elkins did
during his lifetime. We encourage students of musical study who are pursuing a career path in
music and performing arts and who embody these core values to apply. We will award
Financial Aid on an as need basis to use towards education purposes such as lessons, organized
trips and instrument rental. We will award Scholarships annually to Collage and High School
students for Tuition, books, labs & related educational needs. Aspiring musicians are
encouraged to apply if they meet the following criteria:
1. Weighted GPA of 2.75 or higher
2. Record of service to their community
3. Record of service to their High School
4. Participation in extracurricular activities as a well-rounded student

DElkinsfoundation@gmail.com. Please attach a school transcript to verify minimum requirements for
the scholarship and any other accompanying information you feel appropriate to document any service
or extracurricular activities. For Scholarships, Reference Letters are required; one from a school advisor
or teacher, one from a parent (minors only) and one personal reference. For Financial Assistance please
provide documentation of the service(s) needed from a school advisor or teacher.

Financial Assistance Applicants must have the endorsement of their Musical Director / Teacher
attesting to the service or activity need of the student.

Application for Scholarship opens March 1, 2022

and must be received by Deadline of March 31, 2022.
Scholarship Recipients will be notified in April.
The Scholarship is non-renewable. Previous recipients must reapply.
Scholarship funds will be awarded to the student upon evidence of acceptance and
registration in an accredited post-secondary intuition for musical studies.

Applications for Financial Assistance is open year long.

Scholarship and Financial Assistance awards are based upon the availability of funds, without
regard to race, color, ethnicity, gender or sexual orientation.
