QUESTIONS
1. In the light of the recent development where India has been elected as the Non-
Permanent Member of the UNSC, critically comment on the following: “ Permanent
Seat in UNSC is neither necessary nor the only way for India to assert its arrival on
global centre stage. There are various other ways through which India can assert its
supremacy on the Global Stage”
2. The decade from 2008 Global Financial Crisis to 2020 Corona virus pandemic has
seen a real transformation of the world order politically as well as economically.
Substantiate with examples as to what do you see as the most important shifts in
Global Politics in the last 12 years.
3. What do you understand by the term “strategic culture” ? Do you think India has its
own strategic culture? What are the salient features of India’s strategic culture ?
4. Pakistan has been re-elected to the United Nations Human Rights Council despite
opposition from activist groups over its abysmal human rights records. Critically
comment on the track record of the UNHRC and its relevance in tackling Human
Rights challenges in the near future.
5. Vice-President Venkaiah Naidu recently attended the 18th Non-Aligned Movement
(NAM) summit at Baku in Azerbaijan. Critically analyse the relevance of the NAM in
the 21st century, especially in a post pandemic world.
6. “The pandemic has put the final nail in the coffin of globalisation .” - Prof. Reinhart .
In the post pandemic world , do you think Globalisation would be a reality or would it
be a myth ?
