Reflection Essay
From the videos I have watched I have learned many different techniques that I will use

in my future classroom. The first technique that I will use in my future classroom is to use books

that are not only informational but books that are relatable and enjoyable to the students. Another

technique I saw that I might possibly use in my future classroom is for foreign language classes.

This technique is to incorporate some of the cultural aspects of the language I teach, like

bringing food from that culture and have the kids look at a menu in that language. Another

technique I really liked was in an English class where the teacher would have small groups that

could discuss certain literature and she would sit in each group for a certain amount of time and

listen and help the students elaborate and help them express their thoughts. Another technique I

saw used was for a science class about properties and classification matter. I liked how they gave

the students things that they could look at and feel to sort out. This really got the student to go

beyond how the objects looked and to think more about how they might be used and their

different properties. In another video a technique I would use would be to make a schedule that

each student could look at as soon as they entered the classroom after they handed in their

homework. I also like the idea of doing a morning meeting where students could share something

that happened to them or anything that they wanted to tell the class in an organized way where

everyone would get a turn. The final technique that I learned about was to have students have a

Journal to use ask kind of a scrapbook and talk about their history and their family. I would also

have them do a memoir. I really like how the teacher involved the family and the students’

culture and history into the classroom. I would like to incorporate all of these techniques into my

future classroom.
REFLECTION ESSAY 3

I saw a lot of interaction between the teacher and the students in the English class videos

the teacher would often sit down with students either one on one or in small groups the

interaction that I saw in all the videos was positive. It was positive because the teacher wouldn't

bring down the students’ ideas, instead she would help each and every student express and

elaborate on the thoughts they had and if a student said something she would acknowledge it and

then she would also add her own points and thoughts to their idea.

Finally, the learning style that I saw used the most was auditory but in a few different

videos I also saw kinesthetic and visual learning used often as well. In the videos that I watched

it was mostly student centered. I would like to use student centered teaching and also try to

make sure every learning style would be used because I remember when I was younger I was

more of a kinesthetic learner but some of the teacher I had did not incorporate that learning style

often instead they would use auditory teaching which is harder for me to learn with. In my

future classroom I want every student to be seen and taught in a way that will help further them

in life
