COURSE DESCRIPTION:

This subject deals with the different rhythmic activities such as different dance forms and
classification that are useful for the students to discover their talents, develop their good social habits and
attitudes for a wholesome family and fit to live in the society they belong.

COURSE OBJECTIVES:

1. Gain insights about the culture of the Philippines and other countries through dances;
2. Enhance self-expression for creative and rhythmic activities;
3. Show appreciation for Philippine Dances/Social Dances;
4. Promote deep sense of nationalism; and
5. Develop skills in analyzing and interpreting simple dances.

COURSE LEARNING OUTCOMES:

The learner must:


1. Manifest knowledge and understanding of the brief historical background, insights, purpose,
classification, and nature of Philippine Folk/Social dances;
2. Execute the basic steps in Philippine Folk/Social dances and showcase dancing skills through
competition/group presentations; and
3. Appreciate and foster patriotism and nationalism through the study of our dances and keep the interest
of the students in taking part in and enjoying our own dances.

 Written Output (Quizzes) – 20%
 Assignments/Activities/Project - 50%
 Midterm/Final Exam – 30%

Final Grade = 1/3 of Midterm Grade + 2/3 of Final Term Grade

COURSE POLICIES:
A. Attendance
1. Grace period is ten (10) minutes.
2. If absent, must send an excuse letter the following meeting thru messenger. The letter must be signed
by a parent or guardian and accompanied by parent’s/guardian’s valid ID.
B. Attire
1. Wear clean and appropriate clothing.
C. Attitude
1. Ask politely; converse calmly; listen attentively.
2. Avoid trash talk, curses and inappropriate gestures.
D. Cheating & Plagiarism
1. Always acknowledge your sources and references.
2. Avoid talking to seatmates / classmates during written tests.
