COURSE CODE : DANCE 2

COURSE TITLE : PHILIPPINE TRADITIONAL DANCE

CREDIT UNITS : 3 Units


Course Prerequisite

COURSE DESCRIPTION: Focuses on dance skill and techniques of other dances of the regions such as Asian and Western- originated dances from
Europe and America. Other dance forms shall be introduced like ballet, jazz and social dances of South American culture.

GENERAL OBJECTIVES OF THE COURSE:


1. Appreciate the variety and uniqueness of Filipino values and traditions, beliefs and the characteristics of people living on it
2. Enumerate the values derived from the different forms and classifications of dances
3. Identify the basic concepts of rhythm and dance terms, concept, forms and basic dance movements
4. Demonstrate and properly the basic fundamental dance positions and
5. Actively participate in a group in executing the fundamental dance positions

of movements, balance, control of body parts and coordination of movements.
