COURSE DESCRIPTION
This course applies practical skills on understanding
the essence of folk dancing from the raw materials of
published and unpublished dances. Demystifying
dance instructions and technical interpretation from the
written materials are underscored. Emphasis is given
to valuing the context of the dance as a basis for
interpreting dance movements with support for
preserving the legacy of Filipino heritage.

COURSE LEARNING OUTCOMES
At the end of the course, the students can:
1. preserve and promote cultural heritage;
2. improve the sense of rhythm;
3. Provide a healthful form of relaxation and recreation through dancing;
4. Develop neuro-muscular coordination, poise, flexibility, agility, balance, endurance, and strength;
5. develop creativity in dance composition;
6. discover and enhance individual skill in dancing;
7. enumerate and define different dance terms and dance steps;
8. identify dance steps according to rhythmic pattern;
9. interpret selected Philippine folk dances;
10. create and modify dance steps and styles from the dance steps learned; and
11. make a dance production as an output for P.E. dances` culminating activities applying the dances
learned.
