ACTIVITY: NAME THE FOLLOWING EQUIPMENT USE IN VOLLEYBALL

1. Volleyball Courts - are flat horizontal  playing surfaces sized for the game of volleyball. Indoor
volleyball court surfaces are required to be made of resilient wood flooring or poured with a synthetic
urethane. The size of an indoor volleyball court is the same as an outdoor court. Volleyball courts are
regulated at 59’ (18 m) in length with a width of 29.5' (9 m). Attack lines dividing the front and back rows
are marked 9’10” (3 m) parallel to the net. Free zones at a minimum of 9’10” (3 m) are required around
the entirety of the court with generous clearances up to 16’5” (5 m) on the sides and 21’4” (6.5 m) in the
back.

2. volleyball net – is the high net that separates the two teams and over which the  volleyball must
pass. net - game equipment consisting of a strip of netting dividing the playing area in tennis or
badminton.

3. A volleyball - is a ball used to play indoor volleyball, beach volleyball, or other less common variations

of the sport. Volleyballs are round and traditionally consisting of eighteen nearly rectangular panels of
synthetic or genuine leather, arranged in six identical sections of three panels each, wrapped around a
bladder.

4. Volleyball net - the high net that separates the two teams and over which the  volleyball must
pass. net - game equipment consisting of a strip of netting dividing the playing area in tennis or
badminton.
5. Volleyball shoes are designed differently than other running and basketball  shoes. This is because of
the constant movement volleyball players do laterally and vertically. There are three sections to
the shoe, the rubber sole, mid-sole, and upper section. The rubber sole is typically made up of a gum
material.

6. Volleyball Jerseys - are usually made of synthetic materials designed to keep the  volleyball player cool
and comfortable during hard competitive tournaments.

ANSWER THE FOLLOWING:

1. What is/are the equipment in Volleyball you experience to hold or use? Explain

The equipment in Volleyball that I have already experience or use are volleyball net, volleyball
court, jerseys and the ball.

2. On the following equipment, which is the easiest to use? Difficult to use? Why?

The easiest equipment in volleyball that I used is the ball itself and the difficult one is the net
because the role of the game is to make it pass over the net. It requires a lot of effort and balance to
make it.

3. Do the shoes really matter as much as people say?

Speaking of sports, definitely shoes are important or so matter. The advantages of wearing nice
and comfortable shoes will help your balance, movement and even your confidence in the court.

wearing shoes in playing sports make yourself more comfortable and easy to move.

4. Can athletes get scholarships in playing Basketball in college?

Definitely, it is not a question, but a must of the school to give scholarships to their athletes.
These players are representing the school in tournaments or any competition with other universities. To
validate their effort and time and to be appreciated, they must be given a beneficiary or support from
the school.

5. As a coach or experienced person, what are the top three things that you can share to

prevent injury?

I’m not a coach but only a player of sports, the top three that I could share to prevent further
injury is having a pre-checkup, follow the rules of the game and have enough rest. In other words, you
should also practice balance for you to prevent injury, keep your foot on the ground and know your next
steps when you are in the court. Second, focus on your stamina, you should know your capacity and last,
have enough rest. Rest is important before the game.
Essay: Write an essay on “How to cope with an injury in a VOLLEYBALL game?”.

Volleyball game is a tough sport and mostly end with injury while in the court and after the
game. But, in my experienced the things that should know and practice on how to cope with an injury is
to always bring an Aid Kit/ First Aid in sport. It is a necessity to prepare yourself when you know you can
get wound. That is the first and most important thing you should think up in the time of an intense
sport. With that, it treats injuries such as minor injuries, sprains, concussions to cardiac arrest and other
possible life-threatening injuries. Simply, you can’t avoid these bad happenings, rather you can cope it
up with the right consciousness and enough knowledge before getting into the game. There are so many
benefits of being literate in sport, particularly in an unfortunate event, aside from learning and
practicing basketball game, it is required to be smart and secure the health of each player. On the other
hand, it is important to sense your body that means when you are in a bad situation feel your pulse,
your temperature and your consciousness and tell the coach or the other player your feelings to get
them aware to prevent terrible injuries. Remember when you are in the game, it is not always about
winning, but prevention of life-threatening is more important than not being able to play at all.

Moreover, practice Avoidance coping which it’s a strategy that an athlete may use in an attempt
to separate themselves from a stressful event. The avoidance coping strategy is widely seen as a
negative strategy and often related to maladaptive behavior and poor rehabilitation outcomes. It was
the least desirable strategy and that athletes who were less open to new experiences were more likely
to try and cope by avoiding the problem. In fact, it was used more by emotionally unstable athletes and
that there was a strong link between disengagement/avoidance coping and neuroticism. In result,
extensive use of avoidant coping and low use of emotional support related to bad outcomes. To
conclude, avoidance coping can be beneficial to the rehabilitation process and while it is important to
control short-term emotional states, avoidance coping can have long-term benefits that last well after
return to play.
