Menú Performance

2 - Danaïs 150 construction : setting of PTFE seat

■ Tightness of seal is only secured after valve is installed between flanges

While being
pushed against
Seat is the disc, the seat
centered on will squeeze the
disc during loading spring
installation against the
retaining flange,
(installation thus developping
with closed a contact
disc) pressure
sufficent to
ensure
thightness

Before thighning After tightning

Use spiral gaskets according to recommanded dimensions

While closing, full differential pressure does not have time

to establish, so part of torque resulting from differential
pressure can be considered 30 % lower than in non
prefered direction of application (doted line)

Disc offset disc has been reduced from 30% to almost 50 %between DanaÏs 150
and DanaÎs MT II to minimize closing torque, resulting in 30 % lower torques

When valve is used with pressure applied in both directions, you may need to select a
larger actuator if differential pressure in non prefered direction of application
exceeds 10 bars

Menú Performance

3 - Main advantages

Safe
■ No bottom cover up to ND 300

■ The integrated tightening flange offers a better safety,

◆ in case of pipe flange misalignement, the seat will not be squeaqued
◆ In case of problem with static tightness, the piping gasket will insure
thighness toward outside.
■ No holes for tightening bolts on flange surface

Long lasting
■ Active part of PTFE seat is relatively thin and supported by a spring
◆ to avoid seat flowing under severe presure/ temperature conditions
■ Low torque, reduced wear with PTFE seat autoclave effect
◆ The contact pressure of seat increases with differential pressure
◆ Overtravel stop to avoid damages to seat
