This document outlines 5 key benefits of self-driving cars: 1) Improved safety by reducing human error in car accidents. An estimated 94% of accidents are due to human error. Self-driving cars could prevent millions of accidents annually. 2) Help sensitive groups like the elderly and disabled who have difficulty driving. 3) Reduce environmental problems like traffic, pollution and fuel usage by driving more efficiently in connected networks without human conflicts. Shared electric self-driving cars could lower CO2 emissions up to 80% by 2050. 4) Free up time as people can work or relax while cars drive themselves. 5) Reduce need for parking in cities and make areas more pleasant.

It can be clarified that inventing autonomous vehicles has brought up a lot of benefits for the world through five aspects, including health, environment, money and time, resources and productivity. One of the primary profits of “driveless” vehicles is protecting human’s life. Nowadays, 94% of car accidents[ CITATION Ber20 \l 1033 ] recorded are relevant to driver’s mistakes and 40% of them mainly occurred due to overusing alcoholic drinks when driving [ CITATION Lyn \l 1033 ]. As a result, appearance of self-driving cars contributed to curbing this problem, which was verified by the research of the Eno center that per annum, 4.2 million automobile crashes would be prevented; 21,700 people would be saved and more than $400 billion in related costs would be rejected (cited in Bell, n.d.). Moreover, Lyndon Bell (n.d.) notices that these vehicles can improve movement of sensitive people when attending traffic network such as children, the elderly and the disabled. Besides, self-driving vehicles improve significantly nagging environmental problems as traffic congestion, air pollution and abuse of resources. Similarly automobile crashes, the key agent of traffic jam is also human’s consciousness[ CITATION via191 \l 1033 ]. When people are in traffic, they often tend to rush and occupy the spaces on the road as soon as possible and Lyndon Bell (n.d.) notes that if anyone don’t let others pass, conflicts can be broken out among them and, after that, traffic problems will be more and more exacerbated. Therefore, when self-driving cars were released, people no longer have to drive and these automobiles connect each other into a network, stay away unworthy conflicts when driving and, ever since, reduce dramatically traffic congestion (cited in via.com, 2019). Furthermore, Bernard Marr (2020) predicts that if almost “driveless” vehicles use electric or hybrid energy and drive more efficiently than human, emissions will be restricted considerably. After that, Marr (2020) cites the study of Davis in the University of California that if self-driving cars are electric and shared, the vehicles can ease the global warming and decrease CO2 emissions up to 80 percent by 2050. Along with that automated vehicles will be run by electricity, although the cars maybe still partially use gasoline, overusing of fuel will be reduced substantially and air contamination as well as global climate change will be also curbed in the future (cited in via.com, 2019). Last, these vehicles also create some advantages for several other aspects. For instance, today, one of the most nagging problems in the big cities is seeking for parking and with using self-driving cars, people can travel to everywhere they want in the cities without the worry for wasting far to much time for hunting the park; following that, the need for it will be limited; and the scene of cities may be more agreeable [ CITATION Lyn \l 1033 ]. Moreover, Bell (n.d.) also notices that because of fewer car accidents, manufacturers maybe remove some safe gizmos from vehicles, which will make these cars lighter and more flexible. In addition, automated vehicles can save a lot of money through cutting down costs caused by car crashes and salary paying for traffic controller because driving becomes more safety[ CITATION Lyn \l 1033 ]. And, using these vehicles also increases dramatically human’s productivity and husbands a great amount of time for people. They can work or entertain by reading a book, listening to music, seeing a film while the car is self-running and feel interesting life through windows of the car while it is self-running safely [ CITATION Lyn \l 1033 ].
