Lesson Reflection 8

There are 4 learning outcomes for this lesson. The first one is using single words to name thing,
for this outcome I ask the students to name things start with the letter of the week (I). The second
one is listen to a story, for this outcome I put on a story about plants I use this story because the
theme is growing in the garden. The last two are differentiate between similar sounding words
and maintain a steady beat, for these outcomes I put on a song the cat on a mat.

I put on pictures that start with letter I to help the students saying single word to name the
picture. The story helps the students to know and understand what did the plants needs and how
the plants grow up. The cat on a mat song help students to know there are similar sound of word
put the meaning is different. In the introduction students will do some movements to be ready to
learn, they will review the letters sound then they will write the letter of the week. In active
engagement, the students will listen to the story then they will answer the questions. The last
thing for formative assessment and closing students will say what did they learn on this lesson.

In the introduction, the students do some movements and review the letters sound then they
wrote the letter of the week. In active engagement, the students listen the story about the plants
then they answer the questions about what do the plant’s needs. For formative assessment and
closing students said what did they learn in the lesson.

The students were knowing the letters and a little pit of plants in general. I use this prior
understanding of students to improve it by taught then the sound of the letter because some of the
students know how the letter look like and some know the letter name. Some students don’t
know all the needs of plants so I showed them story to know all needs of plant.

The students were engaged with the lesson. For example, in the introduction when I put on one
little finger the students was exited and they war moving like the song then they listen to the
letter sound song after that they wrote the letter and show it to me. In active engagement, the
students were listening carefully to the story then they answer the questions. In formative
assessment and closing the students were answering me about what did they learn during the
lesson.
I think the students was responded on the lesson and they war active put some time when I ask
them they take long time. I will pick up random manes and let all students answer.

The lesson meets my teaching goals about saying the sound of the letter after I put on the letter
song the students say the sound of the letter then they wrote the letter on the right way after
seeing the video of how to write the letter in the right way.

I will prepare for the lesson more in future and make different activities to engage the students
and to attract their attention. Engaging students in to the lesson are important to attract their
attention and let them want to learn
