The Honeymoon
Characters:
Jane: 26 years old, naïve, privileged. Excited for her honeymoon with her
new husband, David.
David: 32 years old, successful lawyer. Happy to be with his new wife, Jane.
Time: Current time
Setting: A dim room with concrete walls, it’s almost like a cellar or basement. They initially went
to sleep in their honeymoon suite in the Maldives, but mysteriously woke up in their current
state.

The lights turn on and we see Jane and David laying on the floor, they’re chained at the
ankles to the floor of the unknown room they are in.

Jane
(begins to stir in her sleep, her eyes slowly open and adjust to the light, she realizes her
surroundings and sits up in shock) DAVID! Wake up!!! Where the hell are we?!

David
(mumbling, half alseep) Calm down Jane you’re being so loud…
Jane
(smacks his arm) WAKE UP! This is serious, David!
David
(jolts upward, rubs his eyes as they adjust to the dim lighting) W-What? What’s going on?
Jane
Is this some kind of prank, David? Did you set this up? Is this a nightmare? Am I still sleeping?
 David
No, that’s ridiculous. Why the hell would I do this as a prank? (He stands up and tries to walk to
a door on the far side of the room, but quickly realizes he has chains around his ankles) Well,
that’s just great…
Jane
What do we do David?!? How did anyone even get into our villa, its gated! How did we get
here?
David
Calm down Jane you’re stressing me out… just let me think. There has to be a way for us to get
out of here.
Jane
O-Okay… you’re right. Let’s just look around for something that could get us out of these
chains.

They pace around the room and look at every corner and detail of the room that they
can reach. Jane looks in one of the upper corners of the walls and sees a very dim red
light that’s blinking steadily.
Jane
David! Look up there, is that a camera?
David
What the hell? I think it is… this must be some prank, maybe it’s for a tv show? This can’t be
serious.
