Title: William Robb’s Sketchbook

Description: A stiff leaved album structure with cloth guards and full cloth cover. There are
approximately 35 leaves. There are various types of attachments throughout including pho-
tographs, printed material, graphite and ink drawings and graphite rubbings. There are two
loose drawings inserted
Condition Grade: 4-unacceptable, completely unacceptable, highly unstable, actively deteriorat-
ing, immediate action should be take
Condition: The cover is abraded and missing areas on the corners and head caps. The front
board is detached. There are loose leaves. There are pressure sensitive tape repairs. There
is surface dirt throughout
Proposed Treatment
• photography and documentatio
• mechanical cleaning
• repair to leaves by reattaching guards
• removal of pressure sensitive repairs where necessar
• attachment of loose item
• repair corners and headcaps with toned Japanese tissue
• remove old spine and reline and make hollo
• reattach spine and repair inner joint
• cut new tissue interleaves
• construct custom made box of folding box board, with built in book res

total number of hours work = 30hrs

total cost for work @ £40 an hour =£1200.00
