Last meeting, diniscuss yung Parable of Sower, ngayon naman po, we are about to

discuss the parable of the weeds which can be found also in matthew chapter 13.

So bago po ang lahat pray muna tayo…

Upon reading this parable, meron akong nakitang 7 Elements of this story.
1. The Owner (nabanggit siya in Matthew 13:24, 37)

indicate na the one who sows the good seed owns the field Then sinabi na, “the field is
the world”. So yung sower ng good seed is the owner of the whole world.

Notice that sinabi ni Jesus na ang naghasik ng mabuting binhi which is the owner of the
world is the ‘Son of Man’ na makikita sa verse 37. Ginamit or binanggit ni Jesus ang
“Son of Man” ng 84 times in the Gospels and he always used it to refe to himself. So it

2. The Enemy (nabanggit siya sa verses 25 and 39)

Again, kung babasahin natin yung mga sumunod pang verses, sinabi na the enemy is
the devil. In this parable, we can see na yung power ng enemy is so great and vast or
malawak yung kaya niyang gawin para mahaluan ng weeds yung wheat or good seed.

3. The Seed (nabanggit sa Matthew 13:38)

Sa parable of the sower, the seed was the word of God diba. While in this second
parable, the seed is people who are growing where they are planted in the world.

Tulad ng nasa story, may dalawang tagahasik or sower and meron din two kinds of
seed. The different seeds are the different kinds of people. So yung good seed is the
“:sons of the kingdom”.
kalooban ng Diyos or under the rule of God in their lives. While yung mga weeds are the
“son of evil one”.
nila. They place themselves on the throne of their own lives.

So kung mapapansin natin sa kwento, Yung enemy is nag sow siya ng destructive seed
in Christ’s field. Wla siyang positive objective in mind. So yung motivating force niya in
his work is to destroy the harvest.

4. The Field (makikita natin sa Matthew 13:38)

So nung binabasa ko to kagabi, nagbasa din ako ng ilang commentaries, So dito yung
part na maraming naging interpretation and explanation. Many writers treat this as a
parable about the church, like to show there can never be a pure church.
like that. And there are others who says that this parable is not about the church kasi
clearly, sinabi ni Jesus na “The field is the world!” so means buong mundo hindi lang
umiikot sa church.
5. The Question (Matthew 13:27)
So sabi, kung mabuti ang Diyos and Christ is so mighty, bakit napakarami padin evil in
the world?
If nagtagumpay na si Jesus over evil on the cross, bakit

6. The Growth (Matthew 13:30)

Sabi evil will grow kasama ng mga mabubuti until the return of Christ. This world is
getting better daw and getting worse at the same time. So tulad ng nasa parable, the
good seed is growing and producing abundant harvest band the weeds are growing too.

7. The Harvest (Matthew 13:30)

We are living in the day of God’s grace. Hinahayaan ng Panginoon na mag grow ang
two types of seeds which is the good and bad hanggang sa dumating siya or yun nga
yung harvest time na nabanggit sa parable. So the day of judgement has not yet come,
and until that day, that is what the kingdom will look like.
So ibig sabihin, the work of
judgment belongs to Christ, so siya lang ang may kakayahang mag judge kung sino ang
good sa bad or ang wheat sa weeds.

So sa harvest time or sa muling pagbabalik ng Panginoon, titipunin niya ang

masasamang damo, pagbibigkis-bigkisin saka susunugin. Habang yung mga trigo ay
kanyang titipunin din at kukuhanin.

3 APPLICAYIONS FROM THE STORY:

1. STAY ENGAGED

So there is no ideal spots in this world. Wherever Christ sows his people, Satan sows
his weeds too. So as a Christian, let us bloom kung san man tayo tinamin or kung
nasan man tayo, show them that we are wheat or good seeds or follower of Christ
through actions or showing good deeds. Sabi ni Augustine sa related post niya about
the parable of the weeds, “Those who are weeds today may be wheat tomorrow, ibig
bilang Diyosat tagapagligtas.

2. PRACTICE TOLERANCE

Tolerance means pagpapaubaya, so it is a wonderful Christian virtue that is needed

especially pag merong mga disagreements. It means showing patience or pagtitiis sa
mga taong you find really difficult to deal with.
It does not mean passivity or magsasawalang kibo na lang tayo or give up concern para
sa spiritual condition ng iba. Jesus said it clearly na ang mga wheat needs to grow
alongside the weeds hanggang sa muling pagbalik ni Jesu-Cristo.

Always REMEMBER…
Ibig sabihin, it is our mission na ipalaganap ang mabuting balita para maraming
makarinig at makakilala pa sa Panginoong Jesus. Di natin sila kailangang ijudge or
icondemn dahil dinaman natin trabaho yung kundi ng Diyos and He will do it when he
comes.

3. ANTICIPATE THE HARVEST

God will harvest the wheat. He will bring His people home, and the righteous will shine
like the sun.

WITH WHOM WILL YOU BUNDLED ON THAT DAY?

Sana Makita daw tayo na in the bundle of life with the people of God na sinubmit na ang
