Q1: Because of online streaming services and rising ticket prices, the movie-theater
industry in our town has reached its lowest point in nearly two decades, especially
now, during the global pandemic, as we are forbid to go to these kind of places.
Q2: I am always looking for entertainment activities for a cheap cost. However, if i
am planning to go to cinema or theatre I will be in the obligation to spend a lot of
money, as prices are very high. That’s why I prefer watching films on television or on
streaming platforms like Netflix or HBO Go.
Q3: The last movie that I watched was- The pursuit of happyness. Will Smith as
Chris Gardner was amazing. The movie brilliantly displays the hurdles that one has to
go through in order to pursue happiness in their life. It also explores the father-son
relationship, a message that at times even our parents need little motivation and co
operation from us!
PART 2
CANDIDATE A:
Picture 1: Stocks can deliver strong long-term investment returns. But people invest
for much shorter time spans, where returns are hugely unpredictable. Such high
volatility turns investing into a stomach-churning rollercoaster, and investors respond
with unhealthyly that sabotage their results. To prevent them, they should concentrate
on avoiding the onset of stress rather than on learning how to deal with it.
It is well known that people dislike losses much more acutely than they enjoy gains.
That’s a big reason why, after a big loss, they dump stocks and stay away well past
the end of the rout. A big recovery will have to take place before they feel safe
enough to return, and by then much of the upside will have already happened.
CANDIDATE B:
Picture 1: Storms are times when waves rise like mountains, the air is full of flying
foam spraying so much you can hardly see ahead. The boat is bouncing up and down.
The only way the sailors could stay alive is to wear their lifejackets. They are
frightened, as they are seasick. Chairs and tables are being thrown back and forth
across the room. Things are flying and breaking up. People are hanging onto anything
they can grab. People are falling and sliding around on their backs. Water is splashing
all over the decks.
Picture 2: I think these people come from Asia. They were raised during, and have
lived through, several droughts. Conserving water is their normal. It does not take
any effort because they simply do not waste water. Their main concern is that these
areas are more at risk for wildfire during a drought.
Another effect is that the environment takes on a different look during a drought.
Hills and landscapes that would typically be green for much of the year, become
parched and brown for an extended period. Trees are dying. There is obviously more
dust when there hasn’t been any rain for months on end. Water levels of lakes and
reservoirs become shockingly low. Fires are more frequent and extensive, and the
potential danger of that is something most people take into consideration to some
extent.
They cannot plant anything, so they are very poor and don’t have anything to eat.
CANDIDATE A: I personally fear floods, as they are the most widespread natural
disaster aside from wildfires. Flooding can represent the destruction of whole lives.
Families are frequently left homeless, often without insurance or any other assistance.
Memories, in the form of family photographs and objects that carry sentimental
value, are lost and destroyed by this force of nature.
PART 2
Designing clothes
Fashion Designing is an art and most of the art forms demand creativity,
attention to detail and a lot of hard work. Fashion Designing is nothing less
than a field of inventions; You would be inventing, creating new designs.
One of the greatest advantages of being a Fashion Designer would be the
immense creative satisfaction you will get out of your creations.
Fashion Designing as most people think is not just about designing clothes or
drawing the design of clothes on computer or a piece of paper. It is so much
more than that. It’s about designing accessories, learning how to drape,
creating colors, designing jewelries, sewing and of course designing clothes.
PART 4
2. Do you feel people get a similar sense of satisfaction from other activities?
Movies allow us to feel different emotions; thrill, happiness, sadness,
intensity, comfort, shock, nervous all these roller-coaster of emotions is
one reason why we love watching movies.
They make us connect with fictional characters we’ve never met before,
allow us to empathise with them while we watch them struggle, bounce
back and then save the day!
Movies are also a good way to change your current emotional state, if
you feel down just put on a happy and cheerful animated movie to
lighten your mood, or if you need a laugh just throw on an amusing
comedy movie, films always manage to cheer us up and that’s another
reason why we love them.
3. It is sometimes said that everyone has the potential to be creative in some
way. Do you agree? Why/Why not?
Everyone can be creative, where they realize it or not. A lot of people
tend to think creativity is binary: Either you have it, or you don't. But in
reality, we do all have it. It's just a matter of how we interpret it.
Creativity is both a skill and a process. It's something you can learn. And
like any other skill, it's something you can get better at through practice
and repeated use. Now, you might think, I don't have time to sit down
and create something every day. This is when it's important to realize the
difference between using creativity and actually creating something. In a
lot of ways, creativity is all about how you see things.
So yes, you can use creativity to paint or write poems, but you can also
use it in practical ways like coming up with an alternate solution for a
work project or organizing things in your home.
