Part III: The Plan

(Content)

Introduction: •The book From Head to Toe by Eric Carle introduces readers to twelve various animals
and their movements

•On Day 1 of the lesson plan, students will participate in a read aloud of the book From
Head To Toe by Eric Carle. Following the read aloud students will recall the animals from
the story and reenact their movements
•On Day 2 of the lesson plan, students will take part in a group reenactment of animal
movements where they will be partnered up and asked for one member to pick an animal
name and the other member to reenact that animals’ movement

● Which animals were easier to imitate?
● Which animals were harder to imitate?
● What animals had you seen before reading the story? Where did you see them?
● What animals had you never seen before reading the story?Where did you see
them?
Activities:
● reenactment of animal movements after reading the story
● Partnered reenactment activity after reading
 Wrap Up- Synthesis/Closing: ● After completing the activities, students will participate in a group discussion
where they reflect on their experience they answering application questions

Assessment: After correctly completing both the activities and application questions, we will discuss their answers to
measure their understanding of the book content
