CONCLUSION AND RECOMMENDATION

5.1. Conclusion

As per the results obtained in the previous chapter it can be concluded that there is employee
performance related problems which have been created due to job stress.

Job stress was taken place in the xyz tele marketing organization in Sri Lanka. The tele-
marketing executives working for the xyz company are undergoing in job stress. This
research paper has focused on the impact of job stress on employees’ job performance.
Among the major factors considered in this study, workload impact job performance in more
significant way.

The result of the study reveals that both male and female employees are experiencing job
stress in their work place. Majority of the employees in all the age groups opine that job
stress affects their performance. An organization has to try to mitigate and sort out ways to
help employees overcome job stress. It must recognize their potential as an asset to the
organization. It is the utmost responsibility of the management to create a conducive
organizational climate to work stress-free on a day-to-day basis.

In xyz company all tele marketing executives are limited to certain barriers were they are not
able to manage the customer in their own. These executives are given a script of reading by
the mother company were they are not permitted to use their own words. This has resulted a
high stressful level among the employees. Though they evaluate the performance appraisal
every week the incentives given and the way to achieve the incentives is seen difficult among
them. Lack of training, high pressure on their role and the work load has resulted low
performance and more turnover among the employees.

5.2. Recommendation

The management of the company can take proper steps to control the job stress levels of
employees leading to high morale and productivity among them. As a measure of job stress
mitigation, counselling, meditation programs, and more incentives can be provided which
will improve the performance of the employees.

In detail, management can encourage workplace wellness. Exercise and healthy living are
two of your best weapons against workplace stress. Exercise takes employees' minds off the
stress of their job to focus on the task at hand. It also improves moods by increasing the
production of endorphins, the brain's feel-good neurotransmitters. They can encourage
employees to go on a walk during lunch breaks, subsidize gym memberships. Bring a yoga
instructor into the office once a month, hold a steps contest among teams those who own
fitness trackers, offer healthy snacks in the office.

A lot of stress comes from environment. Simple things like the quality of the coffee or the
height of the cubicle walls can affect employee engagement. By Revamp the habitat such as
updating the office with an upbeat color scheme, additional plants, or new silverware. If you
have the space, think about adding a ping pong or football table to allow employees to take
their mind off of their stress for a few minutes. Any changes that increase employee
enjoyment will leave them feeling less stressed.  

Allowing employees to work remotely, and give flexibility for start and end times. This
freedom is great for office morale, and the policy shows employees that you trust them
enough not to babysit. Encouraging employees on social activates supports the employees
feel comfortable and they will feel less stress this creates to break the communication barriers
and supports to grease the wheels for future interaction. Create quite time in organization by
making employees to focus on individual task and keep from getting bogged down with
meetings or overwhelmed by a heavy workload also by providing counselling to employees
can help them to deal stress in their work. The management can recognize their employees
on their every success will improve their performance at the company.
