 Prepare of short, medium, long-term plans for sectors, including roads and
highways, railway, civil aviation and tourism, post and telecommunication, water
distribution, local and municipal infrastructure development, works and housing.

 Evaluation and approval of different development projects.

 Preparation of implementation plan for annual development projects, five year


plans and vision 2025.

 Undertaking of research studies on issues related to development of physical


infrastructure.

 Preparation of projects based on implementation-oriented approach for greater


cooperation and connectivity among Regional States to benefit from the vast

 Identify bottlenecks and advise/facilitate corrective action for timely and cost
effective completion of the projects

 Review and propose governance reforms in public sector consistent with


emerging trends and international best practices to transform public sector into
high performance system.

 Develop and expand the effectiveness, efficiency and accountability of the public
sector across Pakistan

 Improve the effectiveness of the Commission in convening, analysing, proposing


and supporting major reforms as a high performance organization

 Advise the government agencies in the light of global governance and public
administration reform for improved performance and service delivery based on
technology and innovation.

JOB DESCRIPTION OF MEMBER, PRIVATE SECTOR DEVELOPMENT &


COMPETITIVENESS

 To develop and promote the role of private sector as engine of growth by co-
opting it as partner in development process.

 To study global trends/impact of globalization and development appropriate


national response in coordination with relevant ministries.

 To monitor and develop strategies to enhance Pakistan’s National


Competitiveness at international level for export enhancement, and relocating
industries to Pakistan.

 To formulate policies, strategies and programs to accelerate private sector


development, entrepreneurship and public private partnership (PPP), SME
growth, trade and investment facilitation, industrial cluster development and
economic zones development.

 To serve as an advisor to the Commission on policy measures, tools and


instruments in fields of FDI, export promotion, inclusive market development,
ease of doing business and competitiveness index.

 To prepare National Vision, Strategic Plan, Annual Plan, ADP, PSDP.

 To continuously evaluate economic situation and coordinate economic policies.

 To assist GoP in providing conductive macroeconomic framework.

 To assess the material, capital & human resources of the country and formulate
proposals for augmenting such resources.
