I, Saket Mohta (18B800022), contesting for the post of General Secretary

Hostel Affairs (GSHA), am strongly driven to enhance the existing services
and envision crucial developments in our institute. If elected, I will carry out
my duties with utmost sincerity & dedication while increasing transparency
& accessibility. I vow to be approachable & ethical and plan to undertake
the following:

EATERIES & MESS

● Ensure mess digitalization in all hostels using RFID technology, replacing the current card system
● Introduce Digital Mess Account on InstiApp to achieve contactless day-to-day messing logistics
● Facilitate pre-orders & take-aways for all the canteens & eateries via an online token system
● Propose to have an exclusively vegetarian food outlet in place of ‘Amul Parlor’ near H-12-13-14
● Re-initiate ‘Dabba Wala System’ to deliver food from mess to academic-area during lunch hours
● Propose to set-up mobile fresh fruit vans in the student residential area on a rolling basis
● Follow-up on SAC Food-Court in old swimming pool, with an area for recreation & cultural events
● Implement a bi-monthly feedback system for all hostel messes to determine student satisfaction
● Ensure timely completion of branded FnB outlet in place of coffee shack (SOM) and campus hub
● Expand the reach of NGO based feeding program to sustainably manage surplus mess food
● Ensure FSSAI auditing of all institute eateries in order to obtain Eat Right Campus certification

INSTITUTE WIDE FACILITIES

● Introduce on-call bicycle repairing service including last-mile pick-up and delivery
● Provide an optional nominal-cost theft-insurance service for bicycles inside the campus
● Push for the establishment of a new playground with an open-air gym in place of H-7
● Follow-up on Student Lounge in LCH building, providing students a work-space to collaborate
● Follow-up on formation of Ease of Access Cell for the welfare of differently-abled students
● Set-up vending machine in new SAC with food and drinks to supplement sportspeople’s nutrition
● Follow up on setting up female washrooms in old hostel area with 24*7 availability
HOSPITAL
● Propose hospital digitalization process that includes-
➢ Replacing the current file system with digital medical records, making access to hospital
facilities hassle-free and preventing loss of medical records while maintaining the privacy
➢ Streamlining reimbursement process via portal to submit request form & supporting documents
➢ Scheduling appointments with specialist doctors as per their availability
● Follow-up to set-up private medical clinic-cum-dispensary with a registered practitioner

COVID FRONT & CAMPUS REBOOT

● Work in coordination with ‘Rebooting committee’ and prioritize safe return of students on campus
● Ensure hygienic maintenance & sanitization of common areas and strategize infrastructural
changes in hostels as per institute COVID-19 norms before students arrive
TRANSPARENCY & ACCOUNTABILITY
● Revamp Hostel Affairs website to enhance user experience, ease of access & ensure the regular
publication of HA Blogs covering details of all ongoing projects
● Conduct frequent Open House with specific agenda involving institute functionaries to bridge the
gap between students and administration
● Publish Sem-wise audit reports of 'Hygiene Committee' ensuring regular checks & transparency
● Create Gymkhana Calendar in collaboration with various councils & IBs, including the dates of
important events and regulated meetings of essential bodies like HGSC, Mess Com., Maint Com.

TRANSPORTATION
● Revamp and optimize E-Shuttle services in adherence to the COVID-19 guidelines and increase
convenience with features like smart schedule, live tracking and ensure NFC card payment mode
● Re-introduce an efficient bus transport service for daily commute within the campus
● Push to introduce rental electric-bicycles in addition to the existing rental bicycle services

SECURITY
● Push to relax restrictions on late-night food delivery in hostel areas from selected external eateries
● Propose to have a separate website integrated with InstiApp for IITB security consisting:
➢ Lost-&-Found portal to channelize speedy recovery of missing/lost items
➢ Major emergency contacts and campus security guidelines
➢ Channel to facilitate quick complaint of autos inside the campus
● Assist in the formation of ‘Women Cell under Security Section (WCSS)’ ensuring female safety

HOSTEL FACILITIES
● Push for the digitalization of PHO cleaning sheet and have a separate room cleaning portal
● Follow-up on 24*7 self-operated printing facilities with separate payment method in every hostel
● Ensure the phase-wise renovation of all old hostels following the model of H-1 and H-2
● Push for timely completion of AC study rooms in H-3 & H-6 and ensure the same in H-5

SUSTAINABILITY CELL
● Minimize food wastage by analyzing consumption patterns collected from to be digitalized mess
● Bring state holders dedicated to sustainability under the banner of an Umbrella Committee
● Initiate ‘Clean-&-Green Hostel’ campaign with awards for best hostels in various categories
● Follow-up on implementation of motion sensors-based lights in every public restroom & toilet
