COMMUNICATION PROBLEMS IN THE FAMILIES

Communication is a major factor in people’s lives and even more so in families as it is defined

by Iban Thomson as the connection or union between two or more people where a message is

transmitted or exchanged and through which families can create a good foundations where they

can build a good place to train their children, discuss various ideas and also express the feelings

or emotions that people in the family group may feel.

When there is no communication in the families this generates that the participants isolate from

their nucleus which brings as consequence the family disintegration and this we can support with

the research carried out by UNAH where it shows that the factor of greater cause of Family

division is poor communication between people in the nucleus either between the parents

themselves or the children with the parents.

Another consequence that is very noticeable in the moment when communication fails in a

family is the lack of values and emotions that are expressed in the members of the house, for we

know that all these can be transmitted through communication and when this failure is seen a
great gap in the moment of acting around the values taught in the family and equally in the

expression of those emotions, This is confirmed by psychologist Sergio Gallejo in his study on

family communication.

We can also see other consequences such as rebelliousness in children, lack of respect among

people in the house, dependence on technology of the people who make up the family nucleus,

because since they have no one to communicate with, they take refuge in technology, the fast

pace of life, constant fights between people, and among others.

Family communication is necessary because this is one of the means that allows families to

maintain unity and demonstrate a healthy coexistence among all those around them.
