Additional points to note:

 Gerunds are verbs with –ing however, these words do NOT function as a verb but a
noun.
 Infinitive is a verbal consisting the word to plus a verb in its simplest form. It may act
as a noun, adjective, or adverb depending on how it is used.
 Articles and determiners such ‘as a, an, the’ are adjectives since they modify nouns.
 Some words can be under one or more parts of speech. Hence, we look into their
‘grammatical function’ or how they are used in the sentence.
