1. Dr. Mingyi Hong is an Assistant Professor from Iowa State University, The
Department of Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering (IMSE). The department
ranked 25th among all Industrial Engineering departments in the U.S., according to US
News 2014-2015 version. He is also with the Department of Electrical and Computer
Engineering (ECpE). Iowa State has strong Engineering graduate programs (all

Before joining Iowa State, Dr. Hong has been a Research Assistant Professor at
University of Minnesota. Dr. Hong’s research area ranges from Wireless
Communication, Signal Processing to Mathematical Optimization. His current research
interest is to develop large-scale first-order optimization algorithms and specialize
them in wireless networking, signal processing, machine learning, and healthcare. For

Dr. Hong is looking for motivated students with strong mathematical and/or
engineering background to join his group. Working knowledge on optimization,

2. Dr. Peng Wei is an Assistant Professor in Iowa State University. He received his
Ph.D. from Purdue University and his bachelor degree from Tsinghua University. He
has worked in NASA Ames Research Center and American Airlines. Dr. Wei is active

The methodologies of Dr. Peng Wei's research include Operations Research, Data
Science, and Machine Learning. The application of his research is focused on

aerospace journals and conferences. He has been collaborating with NASA, FAA,

preserving data mining, fraud detection in social networks, and big data
analysis. Applicants expect to have a BS in Computer Science or closely related fields

7. Professor Wei Song (http://cs.unb.ca/~wsong) of University of New Brunswick,

Fredericton, Canada, is recruiting PhD students in the field of wireless
communications and mobile networks, starting in Sept. 2016. Full financial support

8. Xuehai Qian (http://www-bcf.usc.edu/~xuehaiqi/) started in Fall 2015 as an

assistant professor at Ming Hsieh Department of Electrical Engineering at USC. He got
the Ph.D from the Department of Computer Science at the University of Illinois,
Urbana- Champaign in 2013. Prior to joining USC, he was a postdoctoral researcher at
UC Berkeley. His research interests include parallel computer architecture,
architectural support for programming productivity and debugging support for
large-scale HPC applications.

Applications are invited for multiple Ph.D positions in the general area of computer
system architecture. Financial supports will be provided. Particular considerations will
be given to candidates with a good understanding of computer architecture and strong
system building skills. The potential research projects include (but not limited to):
parallel/heterogeneous architecture, architecture and software for emerging
technology (non-volatile memory, energy harvest devices), data center/storage,

11. Fully Funded Ph.D. Positions in Data Management

One or more fully funded Ph.D. positions are available at the Center for Data-intensive
Systems (Daisy), Department of Computer Science, Aalborg University (AAU), Denmark.
The positions start from March 1, 2016 or soon thereafter. The positions are within
the general area of big spatio-temporal data management and relate to the
management and analysis of geo-spatial and geo-textual data. Specific topics of
interest include but are not limited to: (i) new directions in spatial keyword querying,
including effectiveness evaluation, social functionality, and feedback loops; and (ii) big
trajectory data management in spatial networks, including eco-routing and social
routing.

Keywords: big data, geospatial data, GPS data, trajectories, tweets, social networks,
points of interest, transportation, spatial networks, high-velocity data, main memory
processing, query and update processing, scalability, high performance, prototyping.

Applicants must have a master's degree in computer science or a closely related field,
with very good grades. Good knowledge of database management is desired, as are

fluorescent redox probes. Recently, our lab has explored new areas, including the

四、 关于金融硕士项目
金融硕士项目是一年制的项目（从当年二月至当年十二月）
，2016 年的学费为 10000 欧元，
远低于类似项目（由 George Soros 在投资建校时提供的部分经费支付学生的部分学费）。

该项目的教员都有较强的科研和教学能力，该项目中的教员曾经在芝加哥大学、普林斯顿大
学、纽约大学、耶鲁大学、剑桥大学、牛津大学、伦敦政治经济学院等处任职或工作。此外，
CEU 位于布达佩斯也是欧洲主要的金融中心之一，花旗银行、Morgan Stanley、MSCI 在
布达佩斯都在布达佩斯设立机构。

南丹麦大学“公共政策与福利政策比较研究”硕士项目学制为两年，硕士课程与当前全球各个国家
需要应对的热点社会问题与经济问题直接相关：如人口老龄化，家庭模式变迁，移民问题以及应
对经济危机等等，为学生提供全面的研究方法训练以及培养学生国际化的视野。

学生将在学校主校区欧登塞进行为期两年的学习，该校区位于丹麦著名童话作家安徒生的故乡欧
登塞，为丹麦第三大城市，校园环境优美，教学设施先进。

课程设置
该硕士项目的学制为两年，分为四个学期：
学期一：该学期的课程旨在提供一个全面的视角，了解福利国家的发展历程以及他们所面临的挑
战，并将就各种社会热点问题进行讨论。
学期二：该学期的课程将涉及深层次的公共管理研究、福利国家以及劳动力市场等问题。并将深
入学习比较研究方法并进行深入的数据分析。
学期三：该学期的课程旨在使学生掌握分析公共政策问题的专业技能与方法，同时学生也可以选
择参与一些正在进行的项目，或进行国际交流。
学期四：在该学期，学生需要完成自己的硕士学位论文。

国际交流
在您的硕士项目期间，您可以选择在丹麦或者其他国家进行国际学术交流(硕士学习的第三学期)，
也可以申请相关的公司项目进行实习。

直接相关的学士学位：政治学，历史学，区域研究，经济学，语言学以及所有的社会科学学士学
位；其他可申请的学士学位：人文科学学士学位，应包含高于 45ECTS 的比较政治学，国际关
系或福利政策研究等课程学分。
