The videos provided were insightful and it helped us remember the theories regarding the

research paper and its parts. The videos have given us important research writing tips that can assist us
in making our research paper. The first video tackles about the important tips on writing introduction
such as avoid using “dictionary” terms wherein us researchers must consider the context of the word
and if necessary, use subject-specific dictionary or encyclopedia that can assist the readers in
understanding your introduction. Secondly, the researchers must lay a foundation in understanding the
historical context which underpins the research problem, and it only needs to be brief; substantial
information regarding the historical context can be put in the literature review section. Thirdly, the final
paragraph of the introduction should forecast the researchers’ main afgument and conclusions, this will
serve as a roadmap that can help the readers of the way your research is taking.

The second video is about the research literature review wherein it also refreshed our minds of
what and how can we distinguish and critically evaluate information that we will put in our research
literature review. Various tips were given in searching for the inputs like seek for the source of the
content stated, be alertive and wary in checking the information in various websites, especially the
professional looking ones, and many more. Also, we must also take into account to be objective and
avoid or minimise being biased such as distorting the facts, misquoting a source, or using persuasive or
inflammatory language. Methodology is tackled in the third video wherein if the research needs
statistical designs and tests, the researchers must do it without fear of the computations required to
obtain the data. In another note, we must also know the relationship between theories and methods,
and the difference between methods and methodology.

The fourth video is about the research results wherein they gave an honest advice regarding
combining the discussion section with the results. For organization purposes and for first-timers, it is
advisable to separate the two sections. Also, the results section is like a report wherein you will just
report what are the results of your . On the fifth video, the tips given were about the research discussion
wherein we don’t have to over-interpret the results, don’t write two results sections and avoid
unwarranted speculation. The sixth video is about writing the conclusion in which simple tips were given
such as don’t overelaborate the obvious and provide new insight rather than new information. The last
video is about the non-textual designs which are visually engaging, stimulate the readers’ interest in the
paper and used to summarize information. Overall, with the tips gathered from the video, we can now
confidently start our paper alongside the theories you have taught us a while back. It is important to
provide a quality and empirical paper to the readers since this can further our chosen problem in having
more extensive research and providing solutions or alternatives in the future.
