Share instances where you were a part of a Bayanihan experience.

I was a member of the NSSG in high school, and we did an outreach program once a month. It was a
joy to see homeless children laughing, enjoying themselves, and learning. I am proud of all of our
school's programs for doing such things. Furthermore, when Additional Hills was devastated by a
massive fire in 2017, our school donated relief goods, clothing, and other items. We are assigned to
pack all of the donations and personally deliver them to the fire victims as part of our NSSG duty.
When we arrived at the locations, there were a large number of people around to donate and assist
the victims. Bayanahin will always have a special place in the hearts of Filipinos.

What knowledge, skills, and/or abilities have you applied that have greatly helped during these
instances?
It is an honor to assist others while also improving my social skills and gaining knowledge and
experience. In this time of pandemic, one of the skills that I have recently expressed is unity and
cooperation. In our house, we now have different tasks that we must complete, and we do a task
together, which reduces the workload and makes the job easier. My life experiences taught me to
value Bayanihan, which shaped me into a person who helps others without expecting anything in
return.

What was the most important lesson that you have learned from your Bayanihan experience?
Because of Bayanihan, I learned more about unity, especially during this time of the pandemic. With
this invisible enemy, I realized that my social status, skin color, religion, or a race meant nothing. We
must all do our part and be each other's keepers. Whatever good we do will eventually benefit many
people and will come back to us when we least expect it. Furthermore, achieving a work-life balance
is all about determining your priorities and setting goals. In this pandemic, our wellbeing should be
our top priority because our personal lives will suffer if we are not in good emotional, mental, and
physical health. Being in a peaceful community where everyone is united will help us adjust better to
the pandemic because we know that everything is well within our reach.

What can you further contribute to show your love and commitment to the Filipino community?
Being an active young citizen allows me to express my love and commitment to the Filipino
community. By actively participating in social activities, we can help to bring about positive change in
our communities. By voting and constantly striving for a better country, I can show my love for our
country and participate in its political process. I always obey and agree to correct and good laws
because they help shape our countries into better places. Furthermore, I must complete my
education and contribute to the development of our country, because I believe that a country can
only truly flourish when its citizens have the opportunity to educate themselves.

Why is it important to be actively involved in the Filipino community?

The main reason why it is important to be actively involved in the Filipino community is that we want
to improve the quality of life for everyone around us. Furthermore, it is essential to be actively
involved in the Filipino community because, as citizens, our participation has always had a vital impact
on the country's development, both economically and socially. Citizens shape the country's future.
Many things are in our hands as citizens. Every citizen, in my opinion, can contribute to the country's
development. It doesn't matter what field we work in; it is our responsibility to do everything we can
to live in better conditions. Citizen participation is a process that allows individual citizens to influence
public decisions and be a part of the democratic decision-making process.
