SBEZ 4523 ADVANCED CONSTRUCTION LANDSCAPE II (SEMESTER 2: 2020/2021)

MARKS: 25% (Individual assignment)

i) Landscape lighting design for outdoor leisure for courtyard/Pocket space

and etc.

Proposed a landscape lighting design for garden courtyard/pocket spaces for

home garden/ institution/commercial district. Therefore, you are required
design a green sustainable living outdoor spaces into your landscape lighting
design. Thus, the idea of creating a comfort outdoor recreational essential to
support users to maximising using outdoor space for multipurpose activities.

Assignment requirements:

i) The design brief must include the following information;

a) Identify site issues (indicate relevant site inventory, analysis and synthesis
based on lighting design issues).

b) Write a purpose of landscape lighting design for the courtyard design.

(aim and objectives)

c) Explains lighting concept based on lighting design safety; security;

appearance; space design, suitability and performance of the lighting;
costing / economic reasons.

d) Also, interprets landscape lighting design principle or guidelines.

ii) Design a landscape lighting layout plan with;

a) Illustrate a landscape lighting plan with appropriate scale bar layout,

legend and title.

b) Draw at least two (2) sections and two (2) 3D images/ perspectives to
illustrate the lighting design and lighting effect. The sections must be
clearly show the lighting design.

c) Required to suggest planting materials and hardscapes element (e.g.:

seating, sculpture, and landscape furniture) to accommodate with the
lighting design.
iii) Prepare a technical drawing of lighting plan

a) List the quantity of lighting fixtures (nos.), specification and symbol in a

table format.

b) List a standard lighting specification (refer to lighting catalogue)

c) Refer lighting luminous and lighting fitting information by referring to lighting

catalog or e-catalogue.

d) Prepare technical drawing in an appropriate scale.

iv) Write a Conclusion to suggest minimum five (5) lighting design guidelines.

v) Prepares a softcopy submission (PDF format); (Maximum 2-A2 presentation

panels ).
