In this connection, both the flanges and the web of the I-section beam are welded to the end
plate using either:
• full penetration butt welds; or
• partial penetration butt welds; or
• double sided fillet welds.
The bolts are tensioned bolts, Grade 8.8 to AS 1252 (Ref. 10), used in bearing-type mode
(category 8.8/TS). Friction-type (non-slip, category 8.8ITF) bolts are not required. For a
