surface clean without any dust and grease.

Scrape off adhesive on the windscreen

with the glass scraper.

Don’t damage the protective lacker

coating, on which scratches can be normally

seen.

Mark the location of the mirror board with the marks facing upward. Use a point

with distance A=12 mm from the lacker as the center, clean the area to be adhered
with detergent. Then dry it with non-peeling cloth.
Spray base coating on surface of the glass and timber. Dry them in open air for
at least 10 minutes. Dip the sealing glue filter in water and heat it to 50℃ then use it.
Evenly apply a 2mm layer of sealing material on glass surface.

XIII. Air bag

Safety measures for operation on the air bag system:

1. The operation includes inspection, fitting and maintenance, which is to be carried

out by professional personnel.

2. Diagnosing instruments are generally used in inspection.

Voltmeter or other testers with open wire are forbidden.

3. The battery negative pole should be removed prior to operation on the air bag.
Proceed to the following work after it has been removed for at least 90 seconds.
Nobody is allowed on vehicle after the air bag system has been reconnected to the
batteries.

4. The air bag should be refitted immediately after being taken out of its
packaging.

5. If the operation is interrupted, the air bag should be put into its packaging, so
that it is at all times under control.

6. When holding the air bag, the inflating device should point outward and never
hold the cable.

7. When disassembling the air bag and the components to be installed, put them
on the base seat surface with the cut welding line facing upward. Don’t put the
steering column with the steering wheel on the floor.

8. For the air bag unit (including the sensor and opening device), if there are any
signs of damage on it when it falls from a surface over 70cm high, it can’t be refitted
onto the vehicle.

9. Don’t handle the air bag if proper monitor isn’t available. In case that this
device is to be exploded, put it in a common scraper vessel. If it hasn’t been exploded,

note this item and send it back to manufacturer with packaging of a new unit through
a spare part trader.

10. Don’t attempt to repair the module, the sensor or the ignition device.
Additional safety measures:
1. Clean the steering wheel packing only using dry cloth or wet cloth.
2. Don’t touch the air bag surface with sharp objects or other projecting objects.
3. In case that spray coating or welding is necessary for vehicle with air bag, the air
bag should be removed.

Installing procedures are in the

reversed order. Note that the lower

terminal of the hairspring will be on the

lower part when it is connected to the

steering column. The hairspring can’t be

turned unless by pressing the lug which is

pointed with the arrow in the figure. The

spring should function well when being

pressed during the process of tightening

the set nut of the steering column with 50N·m.

Check the cable and the hairspring of the air bag.

Control device
Remove the battery negative pole.
Remove the air bag device terminal,
which is located on the intake below instrument
panel. Remove the air intake beside the
air bag control device under the auxiliary
instrument panel.

bag control and the bracket. Installing
procedures for the control device are in
the reversed order. Nobody is allowed
in the cab when reconnecting the batteries.

Use of the air bag device

A gas generator which hasn’t been exploded is dangerous. In order to avoid
possible accident, before vehicle is scrapped or service period of air bag explosion
component has been expired, the air bag device should be caused to explode. This is
very important for the reason that exposed part of human body may be damaged when
sudden explosion occurs.
The air bag should be caused to explode within the vehicle, with the vehicle door
closed and at a distance at least 10m away from the vehicle. Cause the air bag on
driver side to explode.
When causing the gas generator on air bag lid on driver side to explode, remove it
from the steering wheel. Remove only the two hexagonal set bolts on this position.
Connect the special type cable. Replace this unit on steering wheel with spare part.
Tighten the hexagonal set bolts.
The exploded air bag may be discarded as common waste vessel. If the vehicle
has been scrapped, leave the air bag on it.
