It is a strange time. I can not go to school and I can not go out. It was
exciting for a week or two. I could stay at home and play with my dog
and my family. That was 2 months ago. Now we all want to go outside.
I like to see and talk to my family but I do miss school. I miss walking
my dog outside, and I miss playing with my friends. I can talk to them
on the computer but I hope we can go outside soon. I also hope that
the world can be normal again.

I live in a cold country. It is at the top of the world. This means we get
lots and lots of snow. I love to play outside when we have snow. I can
build a snowman and go skiing. Where I live we something called the
long night. This means we do not see the sun for two months in winter!
So it is dark all day, and well, all night! We wake up and it is dark, we go
to school and it is dark, and we come home and it is dark! So, we get a
lot of snow, but we have to play in the dark. In the summer we have the
opposite of the long night can you guess what that is?

I am camping with my friends today. We are in the forest. We are
taking a big tent to sleep in. My friends are bringing some food. We
are going to have a barbeque when it gets dark. We have some
sausages and chicken wings to cook on the barbeque. After dinner
we are going to tell scary stories to each other. I hope I can sleep
after that! My parents are coming to see us in the morning. We will
all go swimming in the lake.

I am going shopping today. I want to buy some new clothes. I live a little way
from the shops so I ride my bike there. When I get there I meet my friends
so we can look in the shops together. I like to wear shorts and t-shirts, so I
will look for a new t-shirt and pair of shorts. Can you see me in the picture. I
also have red hair. We will be tired and hungry after shopping so we will go
to the café for lunch. Then I will ride my bike home before it gets dark.

I love to go fishing. I like to sit by the lake in the sun. I have a long
fishing rod and a hook on the end of it. I have to put some food on the
end of the hook. If the fish like the food they will bite it and I can catch
them. If I catch a fish I can take it home to eat for dinner. I don’t catch
fish every time I go to the lake, but that is ok it is still fun to try. At the
weekend my dad comes fishing with me, he can catch a lot of fish!
