Appointment Requirements:
Grade 10;
Minimum of 1-2 years relevant working experience;
Knowledge of relevant ward and service delivery requirements;
Knowledge of the environment and use of maps;
Knowledge of safety procedures and operational safe working procedures; and
Knowledge of relevant tools and equipment and procedure with accurate record keeping.

Primary Function: The purpose of this post is to assist VSD: Workforce, assist the Supervisor in the
supervision of general workers and to ensure that the daily activities e.g. Communication, Education
and Awareness, Information Dissemination, Ambassadors, IDP and CBP Sessions, help with logistics
such as questionnaires and stewarding, Identify Service Delivery Breakdowns including Urban Decay
Matters. Visible Patrols and Collection of data. Ensure that daily activities e.g. street cleaning, litter
picking, weeding, storm water desalting, removing of stickers from street and road sign boards and
other related functions be attended to on a daily basis. Also to provide Awareness and education to
the City of Johannesburg residents with regards to service delivery matters. Ensure that a good
foundation of supervision is implemented as per ward based plans. Ensure a good record keeping.
Key Performance Areas: Good communication skills, Door to door Educate and Awareness with
residents, Information Dissemination, Ambassadors, IDP and CBP sessions, help with logistics,
Identify Service Delivery Breakdowns including Urban Decay Matters. Visible Patrols and Collection
of Data. Supervise and coordinate the cleansing/collection function for street cleaning and litter
picking, weeding/storm water delisting, removing of posters/ stickers from street furniture and road
signs and other related functions in terms of the legislation, the leasing by-laws and the Service Level
Agreement, as well as stipulated standards between Crum and Entities. Ensure all workers wear the
correct PPE in the morning. Supervise staff through informal and formal discussions. The list
