1. Why does Aristotle believe that a human being lives well when he/she acts rightly and
possesses all virtues both intellectual and those relating to good character?
Virtue Theory is one of Aristotle’s philosophy that pursuits understanding about how a
person should live a moral life. It helps us understand what it means to be a virtuous individual and it
guides us on how to handle problems in terms of ethical dilemmas rather than following a set of rules.
Human being lives well when he/she acts rightly and possesses all virtues because that person
chose to be in the middle of extremes which is the golden mean. Just like the example shown in the
video, when a courageous person assessed the situation first, e.i knowing first its abilities and take
action of what he is capable of in that particular situation or simply doing the right way to act for the
safety of both parties. Character is developed through habituation, like if a certain person do virtuous
thing repeatedly it became part of their character.
We should become virtuous, to attain the pinnacle of humanity which achieves eudaimonia.
Aristotle says that morality is habitual control of passion and appetites by reason and in doing this,
pleasure and happiness necessarily result as necessary consequences. In fact, the attainment of good
character is the main purpose of human existence.

2. On the area of social justice, what obligations does one have to the marginalized people in
order for them to live as well as possible?
Social justice is a thought and action that weaves itself throughout world history, working as
a counterpoint to humankind’s unfortunate properties for greed, power, and physical and economic
violence. (Bales, S. 2018).
Marginalized people are the people who are denied in involving through economic, political,
and cultural activities. Ignoring them can affect the whole society. The best way to help to end the
exclusion and isolation is to join on strong allies. Educate the self on the privileges of the group so
that all can have a better understanding on the different perspectives of members of the marginalized
communities. Being a good role model is the best way for them to follow, because they saw what
results you have made for them in changing or building them up to a better character. In this case, they
will share what has been taught to them. Which this action is just right for the both.
