The first purpose of communication is to inform.

An informative communication is one that intends to educate the audience on a particular topic.
Good Morning everyone. COVID 19 has severely hit our country. This cannot be overcome
alone by the government but by a united and well-are nation. Thus, we should always be aware
as citizens. COVID-19 affects different people in different ways. Most infected people will
develop mild to moderate illness and recover without hospitalization. Please be mindful of the
following symptoms.
Most common symptoms:
fever
dry cough
tiredness
Less common symptoms:
aches and pains
sore throat
diarrhoea
conjunctivitis
headache
loss of taste or smell
a rash on skin, or discolouration of fingers or toes
Serious symptoms:
difficulty breathing or shortness of breath
chest pain or pressure
loss of speech or movement
Seek immediate medical attention if you have serious symptoms. Always call before visiting
your doctor or health facility.
People with mild symptoms who are otherwise healthy should manage their symptoms at home.
On average it takes 5–6 days from when someone is infected with the virus for symptoms to
show, however it can take up to 14 days.

As they say, prevention is better than cure. Always follow the IATF health protocols-wear masks
and face shields whenever you go out from your houses, avoid crowded places and always
maintain social distancing, and only go out when there is a need to.

This Pandemic can be prevented by staying aware all the time. Thank you and Good Morning.

The second purpose of communication is to persuade.

Persuasive communication can be done through written or oral communication. Here is an
example of a persuasive speech. A persuasive communication is given for the purpose of
persuading the audience to feel a certain way, to take a certain action, or to support a specific
view or cause. Notice that the purpose of a persuasive communication is similar to the purpose
for writing an argumentative or persuasive essay.
Hello good morning to everyone. I am standing here today to announce my electoral candidacy
as Mayor of this town. I would have not done this if I have not witnessed the corruption
happening in our beloved town. I would have not run have I not seen how poor the governance
is. I would have not run if the people were taken care of.
Today will be the start of change of this small but promising town. I cannot change this by
myself. I will be needing your help. The step is to vote me in this coming election and we will
move towards progress all together, hand in hand.

The third purpose of communication is to entertain. Hereis the example.

The fake report card: I failed the first quarter of a class in middle school, so I made a fake
report card. I did this every quarter that year. I forgot that they mail home the end-of-year cards,
and my mom got it before I could intercept with my fake. She was PISSED—at the school for
their error. The teacher also retired that year and had already thrown out his records, so they had
to take my mother’s “proof” (the fake ones I made throughout the year) and “correct” the
“mistake.” I’ve never told her the truth.
