Competitive Esports Merit Scholarship


This scholarship category awards campus esports athletes under a 3-star Alliance organization that
qualified for any and all major AcadArena league. For 2020, this covers the following titles:
Alliance League (LoL and HS), AcadArena National Cup (MLBB), AcadArena University Alliance Cup
(Valorant), AcadArena National Campus Open (LoL,HS, MLBB)

Family Good Game Grant


(for student leaders and or players of the Alliance member organizations)

Application Eligibility

1. Individual Requirements
a. Natural born Filipino citizen.
b. Must not be over 28 years of age.
c. Must not have any disciplinary cases or the like.
d. Must not be under another scholarship contract.
2. Educational Requirements
a. For any esports merit scholarship category: must be currently enrolled in an
undergraduate degree concentration in any of the following universities and
active in the Alliance accredited organization in that campus:
i. LG Esports from Ateneo de Manila University (AdMU)
ii. TUP GEAR from Technological University of the Philippines (TUP)
iii. Malayan Esports Club from Malayan Colleges Laguna (MCL)
iv. Mapua Gaming Society from Mapua University (MU)
v. Oblation Esports from University of the Philippines - Diliman (UPD)
vi. Valiant Esports Club from Holy Angel University (HAU)
vii. SAGE Esports from University of San Agustin (USA)
b. For family good game grant: must be currently enrolled in an undergraduate or
masteral degree concentration in any of the following universities and active in the
Alliance accredited organization in that campus:
i. LG Esports from Ateneo de Manila University (AdMU)
ii. TUP GEAR from Technological University of the Philippines (TUP)
iii. Malayan Esports Club from Malayan Colleges Laguna (MCL)
iv. Mapua Gaming Society from Mapua University (MU)

c. Must have, at least, completed one (1) academic year in their current course.
d. Must not be in graduating status at the time of application.
e. Must not have had a failing grade for the duration of their stay in their current campus.

Checklist of Required Documents


All details must be clearly scanned and labeled.

2. #NotJustPlay Essay: 1500-2000 words, Times New Roman 12, single spaced essay
that tackles the following:
a. What’s your student gamer journey so far? What are your goals?
b. Describe the role of your family and friends in your student life
c. What motivates you to achieve your goals?

d. Describe how video games and campus esports have been a tool not only to enrich your
student life but have also taught you lessons you can transition into adulthood.
e. Include, at least, three (3) photos relevant to your essay. Don’t forget to include a title!
3. Documents
a. From students:
i. Birth Certificate
ii. Certified True Copy of Grades/Transcript of Records
iii. Recommendation letter from two (2) professors. (Must indicate name,
position/tenure, class, contact information of the professor.)
iv. Proof of enrollment for the most recent semester
b. From parents:
i. Valid ID
ii. Photocopy of latest ITR
iii. Proof of income of parents (Whether certificate of employment, pay slips etc.)
iv. Bank statement of the last 6 months

Selection Priority & Awarding

The GAMES competitive and leadership categories will prioritize academic performance and
campus esports contributions in their Alliance student organization. Merits outside of AcadArena
(having roles in amateur teams and/or other big leagues or esports orgs) is a plus.

Interviews will be conducted for the shortlisted candidates.

Award* Coverage**

Gold Award 100% tuition coverage (max. PHP 30,000 or a PHP 5000 stipend
per month for either the active or next semester for state
universities.)

Silver Award 50% tuition coverage (max. PHP 15,000 or a PHP 3000 stipend per
month for either the active or next semester for state universities.)
*Number of awardees may vary depending on the pool of candidates. The minimum number of
awardees is at twelve (12) or at two (2) awardees per eligible 3-star Alliance member org.
**GAMES only covers tuition based on the number of units and not any other miscellaneous fees.

The Family Good Game Grant will prioritize family-oriented, model student gamers in need that have
good academic performance and campus esports contributions in their Alliance student organization.

Interviews will be conducted for the shortlisted candidates.

Grant Awardee

Gold Grant One awardee. A lump sum of PHP 50,000 will be awarded to the
(PHP 50,000) top, eligible applicant.

Silver Grant Three awardees. A lump sum of PHP 25,000 will be awarded to the
(PHP 25,000) top, eligible applicant.

Awardees and grantees will be announced in February at the AcadArena Awards show.
Any and all questions regarding the process and schedule of release will only be entertained after the
selection.
