• 7:00 Meet at Tokyo Station. (Near the Hokuriku

Shinkansen Entrance.)
Our train: Kagayaki No. 503 Car 2 18A 18B 19A 19B
Departs at 7:20.

Note: For those who depart from Hiyoshi Sta. (Meet at 06:05)

• 9:51 Arrive to Kanazawa

Refresh, restroom, check the bus station, coupons.
Discover the station.
Don’t forget to take a picture in front of the famous gate.

• 10:15 Let’s enjoy a good breakfast (let’s be fast and efficient)

• 10:45 Time to start: Walk to Omi-cho Market (18 min walk or 11min by bus)
I recommend that we take our lunch with us as take-out in case we find something that we like
and in case the weather is good to eat out :p. Not that the Market is usually crowded.
• 12:00 Go to Oyama Jinja Shrine (8 min walk)
Oyama Shrine is known for its unusual gate, which was designed by a Dutch architect, using
elements of European and Asian religious themes.
• 12:30 Go to Naga-machi samurai district (a 7 min walk)
Walk around a bit
• 13:15 Go to 21st century museum of contemporary art (a 13 min walk)
The only interesting part is the swimming pool (see the photo). But the
entry is not free. Also, I hope it won’t be crowded. We still can check the
public area that is free.

• 14:10 Walk to Kenrokuen garden (less than 4 min walk)

One of Japan's three best landscape gardens.
It takes one hour. The ticket cost: 320 yen.

• 15:15 Walk to Kanazawa Castle (5 min walk)

Gyokusenin Garden is included.

• 16:30 Walk to Higashi Chaya District (16 min walk)

Popular for old geisha house. Enjoy the walk.
If we haven’t bought food, we can have lunch/dinner here.

• 18:00 Let’s go back to the hotel to check-in

• 20:00 How about a revision? :p

Day 2

• 8:10 Ride the bus to Shirakawa-go (from Kanazawa Sta.)

• 9:25 Arrive to Shirakawa-go

Follow the recommended road.
 • 12:20 Ride the bus back to Kanazawa

• 13:35 Arrive to Kanazawa

• Take the train to Toyama

If we are lucky enough to catch the 13:45 train.

We can enjoy our lunch in Toyama.

If you want to stay in Kanazawa and have lunch in the fish market, we can take the train of 16:44 that
reaches Toyama at 17:42

• 18:15 Take the Shinkansen from Toyama

• 20:23 Arrive to Tokyo Sta.
