‘hariḥ’-śabde nānārtha, dui
mukhyatama hariḥ-śabde — by the word hari;
sarva amaṅgala hare, prema diyā nānā-artha — different imports; dui
hare mana
— two; mukhya-tama — chief;
sarva — all; amaṅgala —
inauspiciousness; hare — takes
away; prema diyā — by ecstatic
love; hare — attracts; mana — the
mind
viṣān mahāgneḥ puruṣāda- My dear Kṛṣṇa, Your Lordship has protected us from
darśanād a poisoned cake, from a great fire, from cannibals,
asat-sabhāyā vana-vāsa- from the vicious assembly, from sufferings during
kṛcchrataḥ our exile in the forest and from the battle where
great generals fought. And now You have saved us
mṛdhe mṛdhe 'neka-
from the weapon of Aśvatthāmā.
mahārathāstrato
drauṇy-astrataś cāsma hare
'bhirakṣitāḥ
viṣāt — from poison; mahā-agneḥ — from the great fire; puruṣa-ada — the man-
eaters; darśanāt — by combating; asat — vicious; sabhāyāḥ — assembly; vana-
vāsa — exiled to the forest; kṛcchrataḥ — sufferings; mṛdhe mṛdhe — again and
again in battle; aneka — many; mahā-ratha — great generals; astrataḥ —
weapons; drauṇi — the son of Droṇācārya; astrataḥ — from the weapon of; ca —
and; āsma — indicating past tense; hare — O my Lord; abhirakṣitāḥ — protected
completely.
▪ Lord did so much for the Kunti & the Pandavas –
Sukdev Gos notes in SB1.16.16:
sārathya-pāraṣada-sevana-sakhya-
dautya-
Mahārāja Parīkṣit heard that out
vīrāsanānugamana-stavana-
praṇāmān of His causeless mercy Lord
snigdheṣu pāṇḍuṣu jagat-praṇatiṁ Kṛṣṇa [Viṣṇu], who is universally
ca viṣṇor
obeyed, rendered all kinds of
bhaktiṁ karoti nṛ-patiś
caraṇāravinde service to the malleable sons of
Pāṇḍu by accepting posts
ranging from chariot driver to
president to messenger, friend,
night watchman, etc., according
to the will of the Pāṇḍavas,
obeying them like a servant and
offering obeisances like one
younger in years. When he heard
this, Mahārāja Parīkṣit became
overwhelmed with devotion to
the lotus feet of the Lord
